I have a very huge problem. I am not an SEO expert. Does not know any marketing strategy or whatever. My boss ask me to set up a social media campaign. I research it via web and base on my research, social media campaign is similar to advertising/marketing. Could anybody explain to me what really is a social media campaign? I really want to know about it from the experts or anybody who is familiar with it. Your reply will help me go on with the job. Thank you all!

You can create a campaign in facebook, google adwords, bing and create your ads there also targeting people ( age, countries ,, male or female ).

Before you start spending time or money on social media campaigns, you need to define the followings:

1. GOAL OF YOUR CAMPAIGN (sell, promote, raise awareness, generate traffic for your website)

2. WHAT DEMOGRAPHICS (Who's your target market? for example: for millenials use Instagram, for mid 30's women use Pinterest, for professional services use Twitter).

2. CHOOSE THE PLATFORM DEPENDING ON YOUR DEMOGRAPHICS

3. START CREATING RELEVANT CONTENT - look for authority accounts in your niche and get some inspiration (you can alsways google stuff like: 'top financial twitter accounts' or 'best makeup pinterest accounts to follow'. Get some inspiration and see what they are doing. Do not replicate.

4. SCHEDULE CONTENT AT BEST POSTING TIMES - again, google best time to post for each platform.

5. LOOK FOR WAYS TO INSERT LINKS OR REFER PEOPLE BACK TO YOUR WEBSITE.

This is just a small start, but there are always ways to expand.

If other users have some more suggestions, looking forward to enlarge the list ;)

Thank you so much for giving me an idea. Now I know that this campaign thing is not as easy as 123.

Is this some kind of marketing that needs impressive contents to attract the clients?

Hello. First of all- define your market. I agree with Chris.Roark - you must define your goal.
What do company where you work? Are you making internet services (for seo)?
Whare is place majority of your coustomers?
I mean- there are other methods , when your customers are from USA, Europe or f.e. Russia.
The diffrence is f.e. in browser, search engine and popular social media (for example- in Russia, Belarus and Ukraine exist V.K like social media).
