So, is it really possible to rank high without link building?

If you are able to write like 100s of articles on super low competitive keywords, then you can probably rank really good with practically no active link building. But let's be honest, if you're able to afford that amount of content, won't you be able to afford links too ? And links realllly do help get faster rankings.

So if whatever you want could work but is it really practical to do so ? Probably no.

How that comes? Internal linking is and will be one of the key ranking factors. It's basically the only way to prove your expertise: writing multiple articles in the same niche and linking them.

But if you dont have authority you dont pass pagerank.
I didn't say internal links are a waste of time. I say if the site don't have links there is not much impact in the rankings.
