So, is it really possible to rank high without link building?

Kyle Roof has an interesting theory about your traffic tier. He says that your average monthly organic visits define your "tier" in google's eyes. This tier defines for which keywords you can rank without links.
So if you get 50 visits from google a month you can rank for a 50 search volume keyword without links.
So if you want to rank for a keyword above your tier then you need backlinks.
Never heard about this theory, but is it related to clicks from search or users in GSC?

I'm ranking lots of keywords on top 3 without a single backlink. You need to find those golden nuggets.

Probably not. Yet, you might be able to reep decent traffic flow with serene WH guidelines. 'Content is king' legacy has depreciated over the years.

You can rank for easy keywords without backlinks. With lots of relevant content and interlinking, it is possible to rank for some medium difficultly keywords.

What I don't understand is why anyone would want to do it that way. Building backlinks isn't a yes or no question.

Building backlinks doesn't mean you need to immediately start your 200-site PBN and plan where you're going to spend your $25,000/month budget on links. You'd have to do something phenomenally stupid to mess a site up with manual link building. The horror stories are always some idiot who bought 100,000 GSA porn links and sent them all to 1 page.

Get the big socials, make a few blog comments, submit to some directories, register exact match web 2.0s. Do basic marketing. Building a variety of 1-5 links a day will help a site.

I don't see why Google would use traffic to judge a website when it is the carrot at the end of the stick. Google tests sites for basic metrics like CTR, bounce rate, page load times, is it serving malware, is there any fuckery going on, is content being added to the site, etc.

For getting out of the "sandbox" traffic is more important than links. Google harvests tons of data through Chrome, and you want to make sure they have data on your site.

No, you cannot, CAN NOT rank your site without backlinks for any decent keyword, sure for "So, is it really possible to rank high without link building?" but then here is BHW bumping you from the SERP because you have no link power to speak of.

People who say they rank for keywords that matter without backlinks are obviously making use of their domain authority (no not that crap metric MOZ is playing you with), if I am wrong then show me those moneymaking keywords that you all can rank with no backlinks at all.

Google does NOT CARE about your content, if you have been in the tech SERPS you know what I am talking about, this is what you get when n00bs are giving other n00bs SEO education lol :D

Yes, you can do it, it just comes down to good keyword research, this is one of my websites (https://gyazo.com/f004b6770b7c465d9522a4c5d19076e8)

As you can see I have 20 links but they are the classic links every website on the web gets when it is scraped by robots, in fact, the DR is almost 0.

In November it earned 800$ dollars, and the first article was published on the 16th March 2020.

To be honest, the traffic in Ahrefs is incorrect, in fact, Analytics shows a higher number (https://gyazo.com/39894044e05a90e58d38dfa01afffa2d)

P.S. the dashboard is not in English but the website targets US traffic.
Number of articles on the site?

It happens all the time.

I don't actively build links anymore and my sites still rank

Focus on content quality and SEARCH INTENT (aka target the right keywords)

I know people who say that they have blogs with hundreds of thousands of visitors and that they built no single backlink to those sites but only published real HQ content. Is this really possible? Can a seo-optimized content that is published based on a strict schedule along with ONLY onpage optimization rank on the top3 and get good traffic?
Possible for less competitive niches but takes time. But maybe they are blocking your tracking tool and that's why you can't see the links. :suspicious:

Yes it is possible on it but takes long time if you do on page and blog with quality content alone.

So your content is not ranking without backlinks as you don't "build links anymore" in other words you rank on the authority of your domain, that is completely different than ranking without links, do the same with a fresh domain and no backlink profile, let's see where you rank then, I'll bet all the money in my pockets against all the money in your pocket that it is nowhere!

Well, it's the same question: Can you bang a Girl without a dick? Sure you can, but it won't help you to find a wife ;-)

The same goes for this: Sure you can rank on a single easy keyword, but it won't help your site.

I think it's best if the "must build backlinks" mantra is kept alive though... There's absolutely zero reason to undermine the effect of backlinks. Without backlinks, most people simply won't be able to rank their "high quality content" sites. Not every1 is from Germany or Japan where the standard for "quality" is vastly different from say China or India (I mean no offence, just basing things on general knowledge which may or may not be be wrong).

In True Words

you Cant able to Rank Your Website Without Link Building. Yes You Can Do Proper SEO with Back Link Building

Thank by,

Internal linking, relevance and proper on-page SEO can help you rank without link building. Of course, you'll need a lot of articles linked between them if you want to see results.

You can even go for medium keywords... people keep saying you need links but I bet they didn't even try to rank without any link building, so for them, links are the only way to rank.. but obviously, this isn't true
If you dont have links, internal linking is not important

Yes possible if keywords are super low competitive and your content are highly informative. And you need to publish content regularly to your site and interlink to other existing content.
Do have any guide to find low competitive keywords?
