Yes I imagine eBay had to let him go in the fear that they'd get dragged down if they pursued him any further.
To be honest, I have no idea how cookie stuffing actually works but wasn't eBay profiting from what Hogan was doing or was he just taking commissions from sales eBay would have otherwise got 100% of? If they were profiting, why did they stop him?
I guess the FBI or the fraud squad came down on eBay and the passed the blame onto Hogan claiming they knew nothing about it.The fireball they were playing with got too hot to handle for them at one point in time!

Well there was some years ago. Then this started and lots of other not so fun stuff and it got deleted.
Well your basically stealing from the company as you did not really redirect the customer to product. So if ebay made 100 million you stole that 28m and they only got 72.
They got him years ago. I think ebay affiliate program started around february 2008 and bit over year later they got him. Many people made more than 100k month from ebay like that when they didn't know about that at start.
I agree it's good place if you want to sell something but if their members migrated here, we would be overloaded with spam of, "What is SEO?"Thank goodness. Some of the conversations over at DP are so noobish and depressing to read. Before Hogan goes to prison, hopefully the new owner will name it DipShit Point instead. It's very fitting for many (not all) of the members that waste their lives away there. On the other side of the coin, I can understand those selling products/services liking that place. There's a bunch of noobs there with loads of cash in their wallets to take.
