There is a simple way to compare the old rap to the new rap. Replace the lyrics on the same track.
Lil Pump on Gucci Gang
Tupac on Gucci Gang
Lmao, let's do one more.
6IX9INE "Billy" (WSHH Exclusive - Official Music Video)
Tupac "Billy" (6IX9INE Remix)
Dang I think that first number gave me ear cancer!
But this is exactly what I mean. The flow of Tupac sounds way better on these tracks.
People thinking I'm comparing but I'm simply showing the difference in quality.
How about you listen to an interview, and listen to how he talks about his local community, and what he actually does for the community unlike the big "pop stars" he's a really genuine dude, yeah he might sound a bit cocky, but it's rap, when hasn't a rapper ever been cocky, this dude does some real shit to help poor people out and that's a good thing regardless of what anybody says
It might be but coming from a sex offender CBB much with it.
If he really cared about his "community" he wouldn't be making brainwashing songs that cause young people to be violent and destructive.
I don't mind violence in lyrics, Eminem had violence all the time but his flow was way better but I can agree to a certain extent.
Every song he's been dropping has hit the charts. 6 out of 6 songs in top 100
You can say you don't like his music but the kid made it
Never said he didn't, that's because this generation grows up with him and the marketing is very well handled.
Kids these days be like "Ain't nothin' to it, Instagram made me do it". lol
With that said, i listen to A$AP Rocky for instance or i can enjoy tracks like these:
If you ignore the obvious Instagram clowns, there are still gems.
Yeah not saying they all suck these days but for me most of them do.
If you like that style, Mc Eiht is still kicking it.
There is still some good rap out there. Billy SuxNine could not even get close to these.
Not the most current examples, but still representative.
Edit: and this one
And this one brings back memory’s when I was in NY. Heard it banging everywhere I went; (before 2000!)
Gheghe that video with hodgy was pretty funny although I can't stand Tyler.
Back in the day it was Busta Rhymes who had sick beats and crazy videos.
He looks like a clown....comparing 2pac with a clown is a blasfemy.
Not comparing I'm showing the difference in quality then and now.
tyler the creator seems decent & sounds pretty good
I cannot stand this guy
Most people know him as the funny actor but back in the day he dominated lyrically.
His distrack to NWA is legendary.
Anyway, not saying it's all bad but for me most of it sucks!
But I listen to a couple of these cats that are from now. Merkules has a pretty good flow, Joyner Lucas has some deep tracks and some of Kendrick Lamar's tracks sound pretty dope through a subwoofer.
For you Tupac fans, listen to this dude, it fucks with your mind.
