I have family members in the northeast and I have talked to all of them on the phone within the last 24 hours... my brother says that everyone is walking around like they are in a daze. They have never seen this much snow in such a short period of time in their entire lifetime. They have gone years without seeing a snowflake, some years where there were a few dustings... but 50 or more inches of snow in less then a week!? Unheard of.
The snow is so heavy that more than 50,000 people are without power. The store shelves are absolutely empty and look like 1982 in the Soviet Union. The attached picture is what a friend sent to me.
I am calling this snowmageddon.

fell from the sky over & over & over again.
To all you smug fuckers up north - we're not used to ALL this snow.
We don't have the systems in place to move like 55" of snow that falls
in a season. Most of the idiots who live in the DC area here can't drive for shit
to begin with, so when you add all this snow to the mix...
Well, I'm stayin' home, thank you very much.
I DO agree w/ you that it's incredible how the media puts SO much
emphasis on this, as if there's nothing else going on in the world.
But let me tell you... it's NO freakin' fun to go out every other goddam day
and spend 3 hours bustin' your ass, shoveling this shit away from your car,
only to have MORE snow come right back down & cover it back up.
Fuck that! LOL

I've lived in many places before--Boston, New York, Chicago, etc.
and I've seen my fair share of snow.
But THIS sucks.
What pisses ME off is all these freakin' "It's better in the Bahamas" commercials.
Yeah. No shit.
But HOW can I get to the Bahamas, when ALL the freakin' FLIGHTS
are cancelled in the local airports?????
LOL!!
But really, it's all good. I'm just glad I still have power & my broadband
internet connection.
and I can't wait for school to be back in session... my kids are driving me NUTS!!
