I haven't been an active contributing member on BHW, but I do visit often to read over some of the quality journeys and perhaps to catch a tip here or there. Anyways... I've noticed that people will give out, say, a free 500 word article of your choice to the first 20 people, or they will be "practicing" their article writing skills for "established" members . This seems like a great find at first, but it just made me think, why would someone give out free articles?
I believe that they are phishing for niche ideas. What happens when you raise that excited hand for the free article? You give some random person your niche idea and maybe even your keywords. They now have 20 niche ideas with keywords that others have researched and deemed worthy enough to share and receive a free article.
If I was going to do it, ( I was ), I would have only given free articles to the "established" members, to increase the quality of researched keywords. I may only get 5 keywords, but I would bet they are worth it.
I was initially reluctant to share the idea, as it could have been personally useful, but I also think it's wrong. Maybe I'm just being too skeptical, but I would hold your niche ideas and your keywords in particular, closer to the chest. Maybe I've instilled the thought rather than preventing the result, but that's on you. Food for thought.
Thank you.
