I have a wordpress website, and have installed WordPress SEO by Joost De Valk (which I reccomend to everyone btw)and Google XML Sitemaps among the other plugins .
Now both plugins generate sitemaps, so I want to know would it be bad if I add them both to Webmaster tools?

Why would you want both? I'd recommend the SEO plugin by Yoast, one of the best out there. They are an SEO company and know what they are doing (considering that they charge $1,000 per hour for consulting)

there's no need to submit duplicate sitemaps.. submit just the one sitemap to GWT

And there are many other xml sitemap plugin, just put the search term in plugin search "xml plugin" and you would find many, you can use according to your specification.

And yes, you don't need to submit two sitemaps to WMT, one is enough.
