Site structure and duplicate content.

Hi,

I checked my website at siteliner and found a lot of duplicate content. Most of the reason is because I use the same words for tags and categories at my post (I'm using wordpress). I think this problem already been solved by using different keywords for tags and categories.

But my concern is, if I create a new page for a group of post. Did it still consider duplicate and affect my SEO? As an example:

I create a page name online business. And I list all the blog post regarding the online business such as online marketing, how to make money online and etc. Which is wp already group it under the categories section.

The reason I create this page is to put it at my main menu. So my main menu will become like this:

Home | Online Business | Offline Business | Contact

Basically I can create the menu using page categories directly. But when people click it, the interface was not very nice. So I'm afraid it will affect my user experiences (UX). I'm not a technical guys, so my only solution is to create a new page and put a specific blog list on that page (I just need to put short code for this).

Did I use a correct method or is not good for my SEO?

Sure you can build your site like that. Sounds like its a bit of the same thing as building a webshop with the "sort by" function. When a webshop have this option that you can sort by price (high/low), newest or whatever.. This will show the users the same thing - and become duplicate content because of each "sort by" has their own URL but the same content. So what do they do? And what should you do?

You need canonical tags to avoid this duplicate content. Google it. Implement it. Good luck.
