Site Flipping 101

Hi Bryan...

thanks for your advice, so now How I'm going threated this site? Start SEo on it or just sell it away as it is?

One more question ..
can I start flipping with $ 50 moneY? that's only the money I have in paypal, I'm still thinking how I be able to use those money to get my capital back after several lose of my auction, my auction got lower BID in the past as I use NO Reserve option :(

Many Thanks,
jibond

You're on page 2 mate .. at least on Google USA. Also, the search volume is only 1,000 a months if you do a phrase/exact match.

Anyway - none of this is actually relevant because basically you're selling a site that has no traffic, no revenue, no potential (1,000 visits a month is nothing even if you'd be able to grab them ALL - which is not going to happen even on the #1 spot), no design.

I'm sorry to be so frank but realistically - I don't see the site's final bid ever covering the listing fees. You might get a $10 or $20 out of it on DP if you find the right buyer but that's about it.

You can absolutely start flipping for 50$. Really you only need about 10$ or so. Buy a domain (pick a well known niche), purchase cheapest hosting possible (1$), and write unique content for it (10 - 20 articles). Then sell it dp or any other forum that allows you to sell websites.

Have a look at the "just sold" section of Flippa - that way you can see what has sold and what hasn't. Choosing the right niche is important, but by no means guarantees your success.

Hi...

There are plenty of other posts in the flipping section from myself and other experienced flippers - why don't you read them all. I've answered similar questions a number of time. There aren't all that many to read and if you still have questions you can come back and ask.

Great guide. I've been thinking of getting into site flipping and your guide and posts have helped me a lot.

Great topic, now I understand the term of 'site Flipping'. I will be looking into more of this!

im a noob, can i ask , would this work by coing several blogs, refering to certain niches.

then flipping in the same way or is it only websites, and u cant flip a blog, lol :o

Blogs, forums, websites... they all work the same :)

Bear in mind if you want to "flip" blogs, every moron in the world has also thought of it so you'll be up against a lot of competition from half of Warrior forum and DP :)

You said before we sell the site on Flippa we SHOULDN'T be seen in the search engines? If we were seen in search engines wouldn't it be beneficial for us to use that as a selling point? I'm a little confused as to why we shouldn't be seen?

To clarify: the AUCTION shouldn't be seen on the first page of SE's.

For example, if they search the domain you are selling on Flippa and find your DP auction where you've paid 10% of the price you are now selling for, it's not going to look very good :)

DP auctions tend to rank on first page, especially if your site isn't very well established in SERPs.

Dear Meathead1234,

Really appreciate your guys efforts on starting this thread and giving helpful tips. I'm just starting in Flipping business and looking for as much as information I can collect. I need your reviews about one of my blog (w3.dog-obedience-problem.c0m), how much do you think it worth on flippa. I can work on Sales letter and these are some informational points about the blog.

1. The content is automated ( can give the software with the blog, if required)
2. It is unique in terms of google as it goes through 2 processes of translation before posting on blog.
3. Adsense, Clickbank and chitika ads are in place.

Any suggestions and tips are appreciated.
Kind Regards

Does it have any traffic or revenue?

If not, it's pretty hard to put a value. No more than a few hundred dollars unless you really know how to position it, especially on Flippa or similar marketplaces with "savvy" buyers.

Meathead, I suppose the traffic is not much just averaging between 1600-2000 visitors/month. I've just started using adsense from last month so just waiting for it to show some pennies.

Thanks

Depends on the niche/earnings to be honest. I've had sites with far less traffic than that making $$$$$ a month and others making $ a month. If you have a decent adsense theme and niche, 2000 UVs a month should start earning you a bit.

Hi there,

Where is the best place to sell around 100 sites all in the same transaction?
I remember someone mentioning a place....not flippa though.

I made a mistake by attempting to diversify my business so just want out.

Edit: posting in another thread...

are you ever scamming people by buying fake traffic to these flip sites?

No, this is fraud and would not be a sustainable business model. Sure, I might be able to make a quick $10k... but why do that when it can be repeated legitimately on a regular basis?

Whilst I would never encourage you to buy fake traffic, there's nothing wrong with using WH paid traffic (PPC etc) to increase the revenue and traffic, just make sure you take into account the costs. Generally speaking, if it's profitable (PPC cost vs revenue wise) then it's worth doing - although some buyers may be put off by the fact it would need constant monitoring.

informative, thanks. I have a lot of domains, but I am always afraid to sell them since I think maybe I will use them in the future or they will be worth more later, even though I know that is probably not true.
