Hello everybody!
Hope everyone is having an awesome year. I learned a lot being on this site and thought to share a simple tactic that usually gets good results with Facebook ads.
When advertising on Facebook people usually put on a stone-killer, mega targeting, mega conversion mask on and just forget that actual living people (literally you and me) are looking at their ads.
Performance marketing and all the "gurus" on the internet shaped what it actually means to be a marketer to the wrong way, everybody is looking at Facebook ads as their goldmine to success and try to push as many purchases as possible, completely forgetting the branding aspect of a business and how to win in the long-run.
So this tactic (it won't be new to everyone and does not fit all niches) is this:
-> Messaging Campaign Ads.
Rather then saying, "This offer is only valid for minus 1 hour" / "BuY oNe GEt a dOzeN for FrEe", you create a messaging ad that highlights your audience pain points and your offer is this -
"We will answer all of your questions regarding x and y", no sales pages, no promises that 99% of people won't keep, a.k.a. no bs.
Just think logically for a minute, why should a person buy something from you when you haven't done anything to them. And the fact that your post has an ad watermark to it does not really help your case.
This way you are giving full control to the person on the other side of the computer screen to decide what he/she wants to do. If you done your targeting right and the pain point is big enough for them to consider seeking help, they will usually message you because you do not scream "I Want To Take Your Money". (+ you are standing out from the rest of the advertisers on the platform)
Usually what I do with my clients is this:
Create TOFU (cold audience) campaigns of their best offers, preferably use video content and go with story telling and sequence ads. (This is to filter out people who are actually interested in the service or products).
Create BOFU (hot audience) campaigns, have the basic remarketing ads, but also have one or more ads running with a messaging objective on and have the mentioned text above.
When I first tried out this I was actually stunned by how many people write questions, and then convert!
Here's a screenshot of the results that I got for my client, ran this for a few days (niche - dental clinic):
And when I collect enough information about my audience, usually I put up a TOFU messaging campaign ad and just run it. If everything goes according to plan I get an e-mail from my client after 14 days that they cannot handle these amounts of messages and the administrators want to take my head. In that moment I just tell them we could have a messenger bot set up and boom, a perfect upsell that they cannot refuse x)
-----------------
Hope you found this useful. Of course there are more to this then I said but try to
squeeze in a messaging ad into your strategy and just see the results for yourself.
P.S. you need to look like a normal business, if somebody sees your post and it's created with paint, this won't save you then haha.
Have a killer week!
