Have a friend (or use a proxy and a separate account) go to Yahoo answers and ask a leading question about the site subject matter.

Answer the question and leave a link to the site in your answer.

Example: You are putting up a site for a local restaurant.

Ask the question: "Where can I get a good grilled salmon in Houston?"

Answer: "I just had a superb meal at Tommie's on Greybark. Excellent food and prices."

Be sure to use separate accounts for the question and answer. Be sure to use HTTP// in your web site name.

I know these links will be no-follow, but the bots follow them anyway, even if they do not count for SEO.

I have had luck getting sites and pages indexed within minutes using this method, though it can take a day or so.

You can also use a tool like ismysiteindexed this doesn't take as much time.

1 - addurl to google
2 - pinged sitemap to google
3 - posted on digg
4 - started blog on blogger
5 - articles/links on about 15 social bookmarking sites

Serious? Just post a decent article and it will get indexed, at least all of my sites do.
