For the past 5 or so years on and off I have been trying to make money online instead of going out and getting a job. I only need about $300-$400 a month because I live with my parents.
About 3 years I started making money and I made about $500-$600 in PayPal. Eventually I got addicted to reading DP and stuff like that and I had to take a break because I started doing bad at school.
I started buying stuff with my PayPal money and now it is down to about $150.

For the past year I have been trying again and again to get back into making money online through IM or offering services and stuff but I always seem to fail. I bought Ebooks(big help... not), read so many threads here, bought services from BHW that promised that I would be able to make some money.
I tried autoblogs and a few things which aren't allowed to be talked about here. I got subscriptions to IM forums and tried affiliate marketing and CPA and many other things...

I usually spend a few hours a day trying to do some work. I don't work like I would at a normal job like 8 hours straight and stuff like that.

I am starting to wonder if I should just quit and realize that I just don't have what it takes.

Maybe I should just quit and go get a job at McDonalds or something... That would be some definite money instead of me throwing away money on worthless site and domains that I will never make me my money back...

Anyways I don't even know if anyone will even read this but if you do maybe you could give me a pep talk. I sure need it...

There's no handouts. Anything that promises to make you money without work is a lie.

If I had a method that made money without work, I would not be caught sharing it. :)

internet is not for everyone and if your not making any money you should have doing something wrong try to correct it dont waste your money on ebooks instead invest in profitable things i would suggest you go ahead and some CPA stuff i am pretty sure $150 is good enough to multiple in less time , Give me your skype i would love to help you

I don't want to discourage you, but 5 years is a long time. I applaud that you have the patience to stick it out that long, but there has to be a time to cut your losses and i think you are there.

never say die dude. But seriously you need to get a real job. Go out there and get some real life experience. Despite what Im might seem to you... it still involves real people. I'm guessing from you never having had a job, you're probably selling the wrong products to the wrong people. . or worse still selling the right product to the right people in the wrong way .. Go get a sales job and meet as many people as you can in a day. That way you can meet people from all walks of life and understand why people buy, what they are willing to buy and how can you make them buy something they won't want.

Get a job + do IM. There's no way that you are putting in 40 'real' hours of work/week on the internet and not making any money. Get a job to support your IM hobby. A job will give you a steady paycheck plus money to throw into your IM ventures.

$500 in 5 years. It sounds like you should quit!

You are like most people on this and every forum . They buy every new product/software but never take any action and stick with it. Always looking for the autocash thing. Just doesn't exist.

It also sounds like you might be incredibly lazy and unfocused. You must be willing to put in some long hard hours.

Its just so frustrating sometimes. Seeing how everyone else says! "I just made my first $1000 in a week" and stuff like that. People say it is so easy. I am not stupid but sometimes IM makes me feel like that.

Also $500 in 5 years isn't really how it is. Mostly it is: Made $100 from something, a few months passed, made another $50, a few months passed, made some more $xx... ect

I'm not where I need to be yet but I know it's got to be possible. I'm a software engineer (fancy name for programmer) and found a niche with modules for DotNetNuke modules and got that going pretty good but then competition came in and everybody and his sister is producing dirty cheap modules for DotNetNuke so my sales which used to be in the top 10 at Snowcovered site are next to nothing now. So I know you can earn money online if you have the right niche. I will succeed...

I live from my online work for 7 years already, quit my office job 8 years ago.
I think you are focusing on too little things. I do so many stuff, seo, webdeisgn, marketing, ppc, retouching, selling my ebooks, outsourcing............
This month I will make around 3000$ and I travel around the world all the time, rent appartments, work a little bit, 2 hours per day, hike around, watching movies......

Expand, build sites, every site can be profitable. Forget about CPA, that is hard to do, you need your own product.

Its not about money or your time. Its all about your mind.

How you focus and get things out.No offence to anybody on bhw. There are thousands of ebooks with "information overload " you get to learn hundreds of things. at the end of the day you fail by exactly copying them

However " taking out points out of the discussion " seeing whats right whats wrong . trial and error .You may Succeed.

I am just an ordinary earner . With Not Alot of work. But i earn about a 1000 bucks from adsense every month. Yeah black hat.

Yeah " neither of the ebooks or strategies were helpfull " they actually made a pretty decent money from you eitherways. Thats when they used their mind and took money of you.

Yes they can just give you idea " of what you don't know"

Its just what you can figure out of everything.Without trial and error you cant succeed.

I got 9 accounts banned by adsense. Now the 10 account is working fine and i average about 800 bucks next to nothing. I used to earn past two years of my internet experience

USE YOUR MIND :)

Yeah there comes a time when you probably should stop banging your head up a brick wall - HOWEVER many of us are making a living from the internet, but believe me there isnt any quick fix and it takes a lot of effort and long hours if you want a decent living out of the net. Also 90% of the people who write these ebooks and bullsh*t products dont have a clue how to make money online - the average BHWer has a far better idea than many of these so called "experts".

I make a living from the internet - it isnt a great standard of living but it gets me through. It took me around 4 years to get to the point where I could support myself solely through online sales. AND I am in an industry where I recieve residual income so Im stll getting paid on sales I made years ago. Even so I still have some hairy months and I work obscene hours. Sure many of those obscene hours are spent in the garden with my laptop, but the tradeoff is the constant fear of not being able to afford my housepayments because I dont know what my income will be from one month to the next.

If that scares you then yes you should stop banging your head up the wall. If you want a nice safe income go work at McDonalds. There is no quick fix or formula that works for everyone. It takes balls and a crap load of staying power to make it - no matter what the gurus say.

Remember that residual income can be your friend - you dont have to go out each month and make new sales - porn, dating subscriptions, casinos, services etc. The rest of it is up to you.

go to work + work online less hours to spend on useless crap like DP and read threads.

Nothing at all is impossible in this world my friend :) this is what i've learned from people who have outsmarted me.

Yes you have to stop/
Everybody can't be good at everything.
This is not your appropriate job, pick something else.. Maybe work in an office or something ?
I don't know mate but those results are horrifying.
5 Years and 500$ its 30cents per day. People in Mcdonalds earn around 60$ a day.
Which means they earn 200 times MORE than you.
And stop with this shit "never give up blablabla". Theres a time where everyone has to stop

You can say that because probably, you never earned anything online.

If you're asking the question, the answer is probably yes

Give yourself last 3 months to succeed in IM, if you don't make it in those 3 months, get a JOB.

Tell yourself that if you don't start making atleast $200 a month in the 3rd month then you will quit IM and then.. you have to always work for others, listen to your bosses orders and spend the rest of your life like that.

In those 3 months, work like mad, don't fool around on forum, try a lot of things and if you don't make it then it probably wasn't meant for you.

Good Luck.
