I'm not from the USA, but I'm my ads are targeted to USA females 21-35, the problem with drop shipping from Ali, is always the shipping time, if you pay 50 cents for an item, don't expect it to be at your door within one week. It's a challenge.
So you will dropship eliminating the shipping time issue?
Dropshipping itself is still a great construction IMO but dropshipping from AE is becoming dead real fast for beginners, even the veterans that are dropshipping through AE that been doing it for years will feel it, although most will not admit it.
Like most things in internet marketing, niches, tactics etc. it most likely comes to a point it will become saturated.
Take AE, couple years ago most people never heard of them, now almost everybody in my surroundings knows about them, hell, they even bought more crap from AE than me, it's only logical, most people are not stupid and thanks to the internet, word gets around quickly these days.
And not only that, Chinese that speak English well are now also on ebay and amazon selling their items at prices which are really hard to compete with.
You could still dropship though, in your own country most likely plenty of companies sell A quality items and offering dropshipping and if they don't, you can always ask them, in my country there is a saying ""No" you have anyway, "Yes" you could get" if you don't ask you never know.
You are right and I read you some good advises before in other threads, AE dropping is always on my to-do list but like you said many obstacles in front of us, I would like to see your new approach to do droppshipping, so when it comes out, either thread or method or website, please dont forget to let me know, ah, btw, I know a website called arbolo or whatever like that, seemed dedicated to AE dropship and seems famous though.
Thank you for the compliment, yeah I am a bit of a critic by nature because I always look at all possibilities, positive and negative although many people don't like that kind of feedback because I just say it straight up as it is
You are talking about Oberlo which is a paid app and this is what bothers me about the whole shopify construction, it seems cheap but once you set it up, you need an app for this, an app for that and everything is monthly subscriptions, I HATE that!
Myself almost started a AE dropship site through shopify and oberlo because I read some guys success story here on BHW but about those AE stories on marketing forums, they always start with success and after a while you don't hear anything anymore, either they quite, had to put their website offline due to copyright infringement, they didn't take into account paypal would freeze their income for 21 days and they didn't have the money to front their orders or they just suck in designing, marketing and social engineering.
Even more AE stories start with opening a topic about how positive they are, that they bought a domain, subscribed shopify etc to be never heard from again because they underestimated that, even though shopify has templates, it's a lot of work setting everything up, also for a lot of payment processors you need a VAT and otherwise you are limited which you can only get when you register a business.
I was one of those naive guys, and if you finally set everything up and got everything working as it supposed too, it is hard work! It's not like, "ok, I imported all the items, the site is finished, now I can lay back and all I have to do is receive money and place orders" No! It's working hard! Probably even more than a "normal" job. You will need to promote your website and items every day, you will have to deal with (sometimes very annoying) customers, AE sellers, taxes, income tax etc.
I have dropped shopify and switched to woo-commerce which is free, sure they are still some things you have to pay for if you need it but most is a OTO and you can get it running without all the paid crap if you know your way around WP a bit.
My future approach is nothing special, I am buying wholesale straight from the factory through some Chinese agents but ATM I don't have time for my dropship aspirations, I just received a assignment for designing a website for a client and yesterday I came up with a great marketing website idea which I am pretty sure will pay off big time but I will need to put a lot of energy, time and money into it, 15-18 hour work days but I am very positive about it
Then when I got some time left, which I will highly doubt if things will go how I got them in my mind, I might look at dropshipping again

I assume the deal is, free but paid shipping, people don't like that shit! You would be better off by offering a couple things completely free, so item and free shipping for promotion purposes.
