    Hello everyone,

I recently found this post on the forum,

    "Ultimate shopify guide making $100/day"

I followed every step, but maybe I'm doing some mistakes, so I would like to hear some opinions , the niche I chose was chokers, It's my 3rd day running facebook ads and I haven't got any conversions.

This is my website: amazingchokers (dot com)

Feel free to ask me questions,

    Thank you

Your first mistake is thinking that your gona make money in 3 days on your first product.

Fb ads are hard, it takes alot of testing and lots of products. Hundreds of dollars.

I'll check your site right now

2nd mistake is your not selling the product well. You have to sell them on why they need that product so badly.

3rd mistake, your products kinda generic.

4th mistake is 4-6 weeks shipping. You need to ship with epacket so it's faster

Auto-erotic asphyxiation is a tough niche!

    1) Your website looks bad. Like really bad. People nowadays have been used to responsive websites with good looking designs and this one looks like it was made back at 2003 by a 13 year old kid. Also the front page is awful. First impression is very important and this definitely doesn't make a good one.
    2) Links are missing. What about the "Shipping & Delivery", "Returns & Exchanges" pages?
    3) The footer is in a bad condition. Remove "Links" and "Latest News" if you're not gonna use them.
    4) You don't have any categories/subcategories.
    5) The product thumbnails should be in harmony. The ones you have look like they were found on ebay or google and just copy pasted.
    6) Remove the huge gap between the logo and menu and everything below.
    7) Product pages look okay compared to the whole other website.
If you can't fix them your own, hire someone on fiverr. You're not going to make any money with this design.

Add more products on your site even if you promote only 1 or 2 and populate that home page with them

Get Oberlo app for shopify to add products faster

Get a premium theme. Don't waste money on the ones that Shopify advertises, go on themeforest and find something with style, most are like $60. Your site definitely needs some character.

Actually I made my first sale today, but I know my site is not fully optimized to have the conversions I want.
What do you think I should do, for more engagement on the website? Different structure? More text selling my items?

Hm, yeah I know they look generic, I'm using Oberlo to extract the products directly from Aliexpress

4-6 weeks shipping is to avoid complaints, items on Aliexpress that cost under $1 take a lot of time to arrive.

    1) haha yeah I agree, I made some changes now, I think the front page will do a considerable difference like you said. Still working on that
    2) I decided to put those terms on the FAQ
    3) Removed
4)my categories are the best sellers, free, and premium. I have no subcategories inside each one
    5) Yeah, it's because of Oberlo, I extract the products directly from Aliexpress
    6) removed
    7) Overall, I know it's a basic website, it was my first try but I really want to upgrade it to make it look better

Thank you all for your opinion

Here we go again lol, seen this many times and 9 out of 10 times the problems are the same, I would need to see your website and your fb ad. If you don't want to share it publicly you can pm me.

Edit: checked the website, it's not too bad, but very minimalistic, the premade images on collections totally suck though but overall not too bad, needs more content.

I see 3-5 weeks shipping so can already tell it's a aliexpres dropship site which is losing it potential very fast for newcomers.

If you use software like shopify it's a big nono to have "powered by shopify" in the footer.

Now, show the fb ad please.

I don't think this is a problem, most people don't even know what Aliexpress is.

In this you are wrong, more and more people are finding out about aliexpress, in every fb group I am in, people constantly telling each other when someone trying to sell an item from AE that they can get it themselves.

Also, Americans might not mind but people in my country don't like to wait for 3-5 weeks for their items, also, pretty much most AE dropshippers will fail in the long run because they run into troubles along the way.

It usually starts with that they didn't know PP will freeze your income 21 days over a period of 2 months, then IF you sell regularly you will need to pay tax and register a business, you can try to wing it but when the IRS or it's equivalent in your country finds out your are fucked.

You can't really offer good support because if they want to return an item they will need to send it to you and you will need to refund them while there is a big chance that when you want to refund it to China you can't because the refund time is due or they basically just tell you to fuck off in some friendlier words.

Not saying it is impossible but it isn't as easy as they trying you to believe and it is getting harder very fast due competition and more people learning about AE every day. That being said, I am developing a dropship site also but will be taking a slightly different approach.

I'm not from the USA, but I'm my ads are targeted to USA females 21-35, the problem with drop shipping from Ali, is always the shipping time, if you pay 50 cents for an item, don't expect it to be at your door within one week. It's a challenge.

So you will dropship eliminating the shipping time issue?

With that theme and store, will you buy products for yourself? Forget about conversion, will you buy it for yourself?
Make it look like a store before wasting money on Ads.

You are right and I read you some good advises before in other threads, AE dropping is always on my to-do list but like you said many obstacles in front of us, I would like to see your new approach to do droppshipping, so when it comes out, either thread or method or website, please dont forget to let me know, ah, btw, I know a website called arbolo or whatever like that, seemed dedicated to AE dropship and seems famous though.

Dropshipping itself is still a great construction IMO but dropshipping from AE is becoming dead real fast for beginners, even the veterans that are dropshipping through AE that been doing it for years will feel it, although most will not admit it.

Like most things in internet marketing, niches, tactics etc. it most likely comes to a point it will become saturated.

Take AE, couple years ago most people never heard of them, now almost everybody in my surroundings knows about them, hell, they even bought more crap from AE than me, it's only logical, most people are not stupid and thanks to the internet, word gets around quickly these days.

And not only that, Chinese that speak English well are now also on ebay and amazon selling their items at prices which are really hard to compete with.

You could still dropship though, in your own country most likely plenty of companies sell A quality items and offering dropshipping and if they don't, you can always ask them, in my country there is a saying ""No" you have anyway, "Yes" you could get" if you don't ask you never know.

Thank you for the compliment, yeah I am a bit of a critic by nature because I always look at all possibilities, positive and negative although many people don't like that kind of feedback because I just say it straight up as it is :D

You are talking about Oberlo which is a paid app and this is what bothers me about the whole shopify construction, it seems cheap but once you set it up, you need an app for this, an app for that and everything is monthly subscriptions, I HATE that!

Myself almost started a AE dropship site through shopify and oberlo because I read some guys success story here on BHW but about those AE stories on marketing forums, they always start with success and after a while you don't hear anything anymore, either they quite, had to put their website offline due to copyright infringement, they didn't take into account paypal would freeze their income for 21 days and they didn't have the money to front their orders or they just suck in designing, marketing and social engineering.

Even more AE stories start with opening a topic about how positive they are, that they bought a domain, subscribed shopify etc to be never heard from again because they underestimated that, even though shopify has templates, it's a lot of work setting everything up, also for a lot of payment processors you need a VAT and otherwise you are limited which you can only get when you register a business.

I was one of those naive guys, and if you finally set everything up and got everything working as it supposed too, it is hard work! It's not like, "ok, I imported all the items, the site is finished, now I can lay back and all I have to do is receive money and place orders" No! It's working hard! Probably even more than a "normal" job. You will need to promote your website and items every day, you will have to deal with (sometimes very annoying) customers, AE sellers, taxes, income tax etc.

I have dropped shopify and switched to woo-commerce which is free, sure they are still some things you have to pay for if you need it but most is a OTO and you can get it running without all the paid crap if you know your way around WP a bit.

My future approach is nothing special, I am buying wholesale straight from the factory through some Chinese agents but ATM I don't have time for my dropship aspirations, I just received a assignment for designing a website for a client and yesterday I came up with a great marketing website idea which I am pretty sure will pay off big time but I will need to put a lot of energy, time and money into it, 15-18 hour work days but I am very positive about it :)

Then when I got some time left, which I will highly doubt if things will go how I got them in my mind, I might look at dropshipping again :)

I assume you can't post links or photo's yet so here you go.

The images are ok but the text is so frikkin boring and not genuine.

It is without passion and looks like the other thousands of boring ads from newbies just like you.

I assume the deal is, free but paid shipping, people don't like that shit! You would be better off by offering a couple things completely free, so item and free shipping for promotion purposes.

Yes, it's "free" using that method, ok man thanks a lot for the opinion! I clearly have to step my game up, and yes I agree that in the past a lot of people didn't know abou Ali and maybe it was easier to get away with it, currently it seems to be harder, there is a lot of people applying similiar methods.
