.shop .store domain names

What are your thoughts on .shop .store domain names for shopify stores?

For example:
www.[oneword].store
www.[oneword].shop

Or do you think people are more used to the traditional .com domains?

People are more used to traditional .coms. There are tons of one-word specialty domains available, but you have to decide if the weird extension is worth the one word.

Personally I'd stay away and find a catchy .com.

You can rank any TLD ( to a degree ) but you need a serious looking site / store to attract buyers who are spending money there.
.coms are always going to be the one people tend to go to, Amazon.store or Amazon.shop would get visitors as they're a branded name, billsshoes.store doesn't look as authentic.

Personally I am not a fan. I look at it this way if you are going to put up a sign some place and someone sees it they are not going to remember the .store. they are going to put in something like the .com

really depends on what you are going to do if it makes sense to use it or not.

Exactly as they've described. .com is pretty much the universal extension. You instantly know its a web-site when you say "mybussiness.com", currently and I say so because it is possible it'll change in the next years, but as of now, "mybussiness.store" sounds so weird, most users wouldn't know at first that we're talking about a website. Even .net and .org aren't as universally recognized as .com, the latter is pretty much a standard.

For SEO it doesn't matter, though.

And you can even get decent .com's even in this age. I got a 6 letter, brandable .com a combination of two words in english two years ago as a brand new domain for 0.9USD the first year!

You can go with it , no problem at all but u should have a brand that most people look for..
