I think the size is meaningless in reality. I too throw sites out there with 5-10K pages. I think the biggest factor is type and quantity of links coming through in such a short time frame. I would also say to start link building BEFORE any content is put on the site (well you need home page and maybe some categories but that's it). Drip links in for 2-3 weeks THEN roll out content and start link building to individual pages if needed.

Just my opinion.

Yeah that's the whole point...You basically would use that tool INSTEAD of WPcloaker. You said you got penalized because of cloaking. That's an alternative that STILL gets the user to your sales page/offer or ??, yet you won't get whacked for cloaking. Just an idea...Have a good one.
 
Isn't the simplest explanation that these sites got crawled by an ip that WPCloaker didn't pick up as Google? I've only been using it a couple of months, but I'm sure it misses from time to time.

And cmon with the "small mistake is one too many" rofl

Although i have to say that all my older sites are just fine no real damage there, it was just the new sites that we nuked, so i am going to take it easy and gentile (like touching your first girlfriend :P ) and see what happens next...

Could you please tell or PM me what silo themes you know of? I've only found one for Wordpress with quite a lot of Google searching.

I don't think it's coincidence, one of my pages got hammered right after the orange algeroo popped up (24th, 25th) not manual penalty, still indexed but not ranking anymore, all other pages are doing fine. It was the only page that had 3000 links from one domain, it was a comment link and they have that stupid 'recent comments' widget. That comment was created back in July 2014, for months it had no negative impact on the page ranking until the orange algeroo popped up, which makes me think that whatever G does, it has to be something with links. Wouldn't be surprised if they are already implementing penguin into their algo.
Anyway, I disavow the entire domain few days ago, I shall see if it will come back in week or two. If not I'll just more the content to a new page and rank it again.

  • Tier one +/- 100 Web 2.0 links, +/- 25 videos, +/- 50 PBN links, +/- 300 PR1+ contextual GSA links, +/- 300 PR1+ blogcomments
  • Tier two +/- 50K contextual GSA links
  • Tier three +/- 250K kitchensink links

Domains were hosted on different VPS servers.

Also noticed that algeroo is Orange today, so something must be up with Google.

Ohw and please if you feel the need to post a comment about quality content and doing what Google tells you to do.... please don't, this is not such a thread.

Just wanted to update this thread to say that I lost a ton of similar sites over the past couple of days. Sites were all fresh .xyz domains, they were broken up into 10-20 domain chunks all targeting the same niche (i.e. one chunk would target dentists, another hair salons, etc), and I was using WPCloaker to send the traffic to a landing page. Seems like whatever hit you hit me as well.
 
Just wanna know with what tool you used to build site with 10k pages?
 
You're fine buddy. 4 out of my 15 campaigns are on black hat. They are doing fine. You should be alright in a couple of days.
