Shared IP SEO question :)

I have two sites in shared hosting (Shared IP). Let's say I have site A and site B.
While I am working on-site A I found an article that similar to my Site B niche. So if I put an outbound link from site A to site B, is it can be an SEO issue because I am using the same IP for both sites? This link is the only one that connect site A with site B. Do I need to remove it? any idea?

There is a 50-50 chance that google will track it down.If there is a huge transfer rate of traffic though that link then google will reduce your ranking but if the transferred traffic is not huge than google will not take any action against it.

So its better to remove the link?
 
I don't know your traffic transfer.If its really massive then I would suggest removing the link.

no .. its good. shared hosting has nothing to do with your SEO of website.
All hosting effects is website speed in SEO nothing else.

but both sites have the same IP. is it okay?
 
this is like having a PBN then. I would not do it, to be honest. You own both sites, so in my eyes, it is like you are helping one site with the other one that you own. It is like you are marketing or taking the juice from one to increase the number of backlinks. I would definitely not do that.

I didn't think that much mate. I just add the link because I saw both post and my other site exactly talking about the same thing. :)

Check what's a PBN and you'll see that you are doing one really. Same niche and linking to your own site. This is what PBN is. Be careful not to be deindexed for a cheap link. Best to stay away from this.

I just remove the link. I don't want to to get a risk just because of this link :)

You're a JR VIP, you should know better.

It has been documented COUNTLESS times, that Google put a certain amount of weight on the IP address of incoming links.

Otherwise it would be trivial for someone to spin up 1,000 websites on the same host and interlink them all.

Whilst it shouldn't really do much harm linking from site A to site B OP, that link will not carry much weight at all.

Okay i am totally unaware of this, can you cite an official statement stating the same thing. like where they mentioned IP address of incoming links matters? Or slightly mentioned. Like i have seen official statements about many things that harm my website from seo point of view but never came across. it will really help if you can

What the fuck are you even talking about. Godaddy, Namecheap and other huge shared hosting companies have 1000+ sites on one IP and you think they can't link to each other? Where did you get that linking your sites together is somehting shady? You are not doing sitewide link so you are 99% fine!

Cmon guys, don't disseminate misinformation!

I never said it will harm your site. But IP addresses of incoming links count as a ranking factor. Links from same IP are unlikely to harm your ranking (unless they are obvious spam / malware) but they will certainly carry a lot less weight than those from different IPs.

Like with anything about how Google ranks sites, there is nothing "official" from them regarding this, but my tests in the past and also the SEO community as a whole seems to mostly agree with this. Just google "SEO links from same IP" and see.
 
If the backlinks are coming from diversified links(naturally) than it is not an issue but if they are coming from same source for like 100+ times that counts in spamming and google will not rank up your website and surely won't penalize you for it. You will stick on page 3-4.I won't recommend it. Even 1% chance is good enough for me to leave this link.

Where did the OP said that he will link 100 times? He asked if he can just naturally link from A to B and he can even if the IP, hosting and everything else is the same! It's not an issue and never has been.
