Shared Hosting vs Dedicated SEO

Does having a dedicated server really help you that much?

Example: Site A - shared hosting
Site B - dedicated hosting
Both same content - same everything

Will site B outrank site A?


The reason I'm asking this is I have a few domains on shared hosting server. I optimize these sites all the time. On an old website of mine, I do no SEO and its on a dedicated server. It ranks well for its keywords and I do nothing.

As for the type of hosting there shouldn't be a difference.

Fully research the two sites and see what all is going on, back links and all.

You said that the second on is old, does that mean older than the first one? That's often the answer.

In anycase, in theory 2 websites can be exactly the same, in practice one of the 2 could get filtered due to duplicate content.

If the difference is minimal, it could still make the difference.

In theory one gets a dedicated more for control reasons than pure SEO (or better rankings, rather).
