Hey guys , first post here , i'm just wondering how long does the shadow ban usually takes ? is it permanent ?

It depends where is reddit for example it is permanent until you request to be removed to the site administrators

Second post on this website and second post about shadowbans haha.
Shadowbans can be quickly over if you bite the bullet. In order to successfully remove a shadowban, you must cease all actions on your account for an entire week. I got rid of mine in one week, and prevented losing mass followers by temporarily disabling my account through browser instagram. This is the only way i got rid of mine after suffering for about 2 weeks waiting for my shadow ban to clear. It's painful, i know, but you can get right back to gaining once christmas is over, on the 26th, if you disable tonight.

Damn what a headache lol , Thanks for the reply ! one of my best performing accounts got shadow banned , i can swallow it till 26 i guess .

Hey when you disabled did that end up working? Also what about the user name will that be up for grabs or no?

i havent disabled my account , i just waited arround 10 days and forgot about the account , i did no actions on the account on those 10 days , and the shadow ban was already gone .

Oh ok so not even logged into the account? For me to check if it's not shadow ban I just check if I'm showing up for a hashtag?

You still can log in , just do no actions , yes shadow ban is when you post something with hashtags it dosent show up and it gets 0 likes , like you're invisible , some banned hashtags may cause you a shadowban , like porn hashtags for example #boobs or stuff like this , i stopped using hashtags a long time ago and i got a very nice engagement rate .

Try this. Go to the last post you made that showed up in hashtags. You likely used a hashtag in that post that has been "banned" by IG. A good clue is if the image for the suggested hashtag does not look right (in the app). The image could be all grey or the hashtag may not appear at all.
Remove any hashtags that look questionable from any old posts and try posting again.
I only use suggested hashtags and IG apparently "banned" one, but ti still showed up in the suggested list! An account that was "shadowbanned" since last November now has a post appearing in hashtags again.
