well if it were me i would have more than one page,, you at least can add some sub pages and put articles and things related to your homepage, im not sure how much it can hurt your ranking but if you want to help you ranking i would add more pages..
you dont have to add links to the other pages on the home page but at least add some sub pages with articles.. content and backlinks can only help

It's certainly possible to hit #1 with a single page site - I've done it many times. However, it's MUCH harder after the G panda/farmer algorithm update; I lost some #1s, and only got them back after adding more pages with unique content. My suggestion would be to go that way from the start - no sense swimming against the tide.

If you want more traffic, then add more pages. You can also build some links to them.

no, infact there are tons of website out there that's been ranking so high on google SERPS(Search Engine Result Pages). If you have 1 product and 1 keyword to optimize with then its pretty easy and fast to rank this site.
If you have other keywords say 5 keywords, then I would advice to create landing pages(multiple pages) to create internal backlinks and you know the rest

I agree more the better sometimes simply adding the about us and contact us and maybe even a privacy policy is all thats needed, plus maybe a simple rss subscribe - sitemap page are all very quick to do and gives you a couple more pages for the G00gel to eat good luck
