Hello SEOs,

I have to create page in best scenario under site.com/seopage . Currently not possible due to some circumstances.

As alternative I can create the page under site.com/somepage/seopage. Here I can put canonical to seite.com/seopage

Do I loose seo juice if I point my backlinks to site.com/seopage which is actually a 301 to the other url, which is pointing to the first page with canonical. Kind of wired for me so I hope someone who is expert can suggest me better solution.
My theory behind is, that the baacklinks will point the site.com/seopage which is redirect , so search engines will think I actually want to rank site.com/somepage/seopage, which is not the case.(therefore I have the canonical but ... I guess it has less weight than 301)

The point that I don't want to rank site.com/somepage/seo page, is because the "somepage" in my case is not really good, and as I know more slashes equals harder to rank for exact short KW. Example - site.com/category/product/subcategory/someproduct is maybe better for exact ranking for "someproduct" but not ranking the "category" and all products under. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Please explain your suggestion.
