SEO for an Ammunition Company

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I've looked at the website. Seems to be a work in progress. I only see the handgun ammo. It's what I would call mid range priced ammo. The first thing I'm looking for is ballistics and comparison charts to other comparable brands vs price, accuracy, knock down power and wound cavity. It's difficult to trust company claims these days, but its the starting point. I would like to see ballistic gel results on the site and bullet drop charts for starters. Especially for home defense. I'd want to know if the ammo is going to go through a person, a wall and strike a family member or neighbor. So don't forget the safety factors. Expansion directly after impact is what I would be looking for. Ballistic gel test will give better visuals.

The youtube marketing would be best. Just search for the hottest handguns and search for reviewers. Then make a list of the highest subscriber based youtubers. Make a few contacts explain the brand and if they'd be willing to use it during their reviews. ( He's going to start looking for ballistics and ammo info as well. ) After the video post, and results are good. I would salt a few handgun and shooting forums. Don't slap or sell an ad on the post. You just need a seed or breadcrumb. " Hey guys, I was watching a 'someones' review on the 'gun model', think I'm sold on it. Pretty sweet. This guy is using this ammo seems pretty decent. You guys ever heard of it." That will send them to the review, the site and startup some conversations and searches.

I would definitely makeup lot of charts and comparisons for google images / Social media, shooters are like computer geeks, they love stats, numbers and charts. It would also create some easy accessible images to link to forums, pins, etc. Your gonna need these.

I'm not going to go into link strategies and seo. I've been out the game to long to help with that. One thing comes to mind however is women. I don't recall seeing any women reviewers. A lot of them are home alone and single, perhaps a good marketing target. Perhaps your/company can start or back a female reviewer and videos for the home defense market. You might check in to those keywords and market. We don't generally think of women/guns. There is a lot of independent vulnerable single women out there, could be a nice little niche market to target and consume. They rely mostly on husbands/boyfriends/shop owners. If they are better informed they wouldn't have to rely on them for ammo purchases.

Other than that I see you have some NRA mentions, maybe seek out a few more 503 corps for PR and marketing data. I don't know if boy/girl scouts still shoot. Youth shooting competitions, Hunter Safety coarses would be another avenue. Some, not all gun shops have hunter safety coarses in every state corses are generally a few time of year. Requirement for hunters/shooters. Perhaps a discounted rate on ammo for the dealers to pass along to new shooters during these coarses. These are mostly rifle rounds, .22, .243, .270, .308 and .30-06 are your most common rounds. A good way to brand to local markets and dealers. I would just use the bigger guys with store websites. That would give you some backlinks you were looking for. Other shops in the area would most likely carry the brand to stay competitive.

I doubt the company would want to start a social media war. Trump tax plan gives california supporters free ammo.. The best gun and ammo salesman of the century was brack obama. Now that the US is republican, the fear factor and sales are down. Biggest argument now is ammo and liberals attacking ammo sales, limits and bans. I would stay on top or even instigate those issues. What good is your right to bear arms if you can't purchase ammo to shoot. Instant gun control.

Explain what the company is doing to help protect 2nd amendment and gun owner rights. It's easy to say but what is the company doing ? Donating percentages to lobbyist or groups ? If they are in the fight, we need to know how they are helping protect us. I might pay a little more for ammo over the others if I know some of my money spent is being used to insure my rights. You'll need to convince us.

Anyway, I'm writing a book here. Bottom line is your market. If you don't know or understand the people your targeting, you'll never reach them.. Good luck, hope some of the insights gives you a few ideas.

Wow, really big help here. You really took alot of time and thought into helping me and I cant thank you enough. You gave me some great insight and gave me a few really great plans that might just break this company into a new market. Yes the website is a work in progress, he wanted something really square and plain, plus we couldn't put it on shopify or any of the easy to create pop up stores. .
