Hi

Learning everything about SEO is great, but it is confusing, and so is it for me. So in short, what are the steps you take when doing SEO?
ex: 1. research niche 2. keyword research 3...

I believe this might be helpful for more people out here just starting out.

I don't mean to be rude, but you have been a member of bhw since 2011 and we are rolling into 2015. I would recommend to read the threads as a guide.

Thank you for your constructful comment. I haven't been really active a see looking at my post count. I just read tons of info, link building, keyword research, blog posts, social media, local seo, citations, everything... but it's all so messy in my head.

That's why I am asking for a checklist of things most people usually go through when doing SEO for their, or someone elses site.

In all honesty there are some decent books on Amazon that I would recommend you read if you are still confused. This is how I got started and it was really good.

Op you might wanna read a journey or two. There are some nice and informative journeys where you will find everything that needs to be done from the very beginning.

Start with basic seo and go slowly and try to build link continuously..

Get a decent aged domain, install Wordpress with all the SEO plugins like Yoast, and just start blogging targeting long tail keywords. Then spot out web pages that bring most of the traffic, find the most popular entry keywords and build some backlinks to those pages.
