SEO and special characters, specifically the &

Hi . I am doing some SEO for the bed and breakfast niche. Now bed and breakfasts are usually spelled as B&B. My questions are:

How does google relate to the & character?

Do they handle the word B&B as B<space>B ?

Should I perhaps use instead of & in meta tags and so on?

With special characters, always use their HTML entity and you won't have to worry about it.

But what about URL's, should I buy domains with B&B in the url, or should I go for BandB in the URL?
