Seeking Suggestions for an Offline/Online Store

What's up guys... I have been presented with a big opportunity to put all the internet marketing theory to practice... a friend of mine has a brick-and-mortar shop based in italy that sells women's apparel.
just recently they went online, and now they have an e-commerce website tied with their offline inventory.
the problem is they are obviously being smashed by the huge competition and they are not selling enough.

now i want to help them and i'm brainstorming for ideas... i will definitely grow and drive traffic from facebook, instagram and pinterest, but that is as far as my IM knoweledge goes.
Any suggestions/topics/articles will grant you my undying, strictly platonic, love. thanks

For this kind of store .. promote offline. Make posters and handbills with your website link on them. Offer home delivery. Offer free gifts .. discounts. Build a local client base.

With being women's apparel hit up instagram and get a model to show off clothing. Are products only sold/shipped in Italy ? If you ship everywhere pull a "exclusively from Italy or made in Italy." For some reason that sounds fancy. Maybe send samples of clothing to fashion bloggers if they have decent following.

As your title suggests, focus on both online and offline marketing. With a brick and mortar, on top of gaining new clients, you need to keep your current clients loyal. Are you growing their email list? For women's clothing, also consider getting on Pinterest. Good luck.

what we gathered so far:

• will grow facebook, instagram and twitter
• will understand how the hell pinterest works and grow that aswell
• will try to get the owner to model for some photos
• will try to reach the american market while giving extra care and love to local clients
• will personally deliver products locally and for free, like a pizzaboy.
• Gary Vaynerchuck just came to mind, will read and listen to his stuff again
• might simplify the website implementing a platform like shopify or volusion
• i will then join ebay
• will spend a couple of bucks on facebook ads to find local clients
• will gather perhaps two email lists, one in italian the other in english
• fashion bloggers are definitely not missing here, i will work on that too

we will see how this goes... they are not doing very well economically but there is a lot of potential.

Yeah. I wasn't a big PInterest person either. I tried to stay away as long as I could but if you look at the demographics and the average purchase price you'll see it's much higher than all the other networks. There is a learning curve as I'm going through it as well but we've had pretty good results so far with both organic and paid ads.
