Hi,

I'm new to sctapebox. Is it still good for scraping topic-relevant groups and posts?

There's also an option to send comments in bulk, but how to make this safe from penalizations by FB and other socials?

I mean Scrapebox is just getting data from the search engines, so if your really asking is google still relevant for scraping topic-relevant groups and posts?

If google can't scrape what you want, then what can? So I think the answer is yes, but I guess that depends on your faith in google. Scrapebox is still quite excellent at scraping google and many other engines.

As for sending comments, yes scrapebox can do that, but Im not sure how that sending comments is going to get you a penalty from FB and other socials? I guess Im lost there, maybe I don't understand what your asking?

I think @Robzkie is asking if scrapebox can scrape Facebook groups and posts and if it can comment on Facebook posts without getting his Facebook account banned.

Scrapebox's comments feature is for commenting on those blogs with a "leave a comment", "name" and emails field. It cannot comment on Facebook

No, scrapebox will not post on a facebook account nor will it comment. You need to be logged in for that and scrapebox supports neither javascript nor authentication.

Basically scrapebox can post to any site/form that doesn't require javascript or authentication in order to make the post. Blogs are the classic example, but there is like 200 something platforms that scrapebox can work with, and thats just the ones that I know of, probably lots more of course

Edit: Scrapebox is "capable" of posting to many hundreds of platforms, but its trained only about 30+ platforms, you need to train anything else you want it to post to.

Guys, thanks a lot.

@loopline , what do you mena by "its trained only about 30+ platforms"?

I think you're the guy who posted some nice guides on YouTube. Does any of these explain how and why to use Scrapebox with proxies or a vpn?

I mean I know that there are hundreds of platforms that could be trained, but scrapebox comes pretrained on 30 platforms out of the box and if you want to post to others then you just need to train them.

I don't follow your proxy/vpn question. What is the question?

You Need proxies only for posting. You Can use proxies for other functions to help speed up the processing, but its not a requirement, its just most people don't want to wait for the slowness required to do it without proxies and still avoid ip bans.

A VPN is ok, but it only gives you 1 IP so thats right back to the same slowness as not using one. A vpn is ok for posting, but for any other task that you would need proxies its no real advantage over just not using anything, like not using a vpn and not using proxies. The only advantage is if you want to babysit it then you can change the ip of the vpn, so that kind of helps, but its still a huge time constraint on your part to babysit that.

So as long as I do scraping only, the proxies help speed up the process, but I am not risking any ban from Google even if I don't do anything?

When I say requirement, thats for getting a complaint. you can get a complaint to your ISP if you post links or contact forms. If you get too many complaints, they can refuse to sell your internet access, thats obviously bad.

As for using google, you can do it without proxies sure, but if you go too fast, yes they will of course ban you. So you just have to figure out how slow you can go without getting banned. They unban in 48 hours anyway.

But you probably don't want to go that slow, thats why people use proxies.

This is all very unclear, so sorry guys, I have to study more on this. Let's see if I get what you guys told me so far.

Let's say I want to start by simply scraping Google to find social media (fb, LinkedIn, Twitter), blogs and forums that are relevant to a certain topic.

Can I do that by setting queries on scrapebox, and use proxies to speed up the process? Are there other precautions I should take?

Can I also set multiple queries to scrape at once?
