Well a programmer from India bidded on my project for building an iphone game that I am hoping to turn around and sell. He had 2 good reviews and both were 5 stars. One review was for a game design project where he was highly rated. It is going to cost me $599

should I do it?

what are you're experiences with scriptlance?

are there any better ways to higher a programmer?

thanks.
please help me decide upon this

From my experience there's better programmers on GetAFreelancer and GetACoder. Scriptlance is mostly web projects (php / asp).

How do you plan on selling it? As a game to iphone users on itunes or full resell rights to some other distributor?

I plan on selling it to iphone users on the iphone app store. Speaking of resell rights, how can I make sure that nobody steals the application that was built for me?

Really hard, especially if its outsourced to India. That guy will have the source code and he can basically do with it whatever he wants.

I don't have much experience with the iphone so I don't know how you will manage the serial numbers for the game in order to keep people from copying it. You will have to ask the programmer to implement something for you. I do database checks for all my apps.

You may want to do some more research on this before you pay the guy to do it.

If you go through companies, you can have them sign a contract. I forgot exactly what it's called but it would reassure that he wouldn't resell your shit. Just something to look into.
hey there hadiology. Thanks for your post, I repped you and thanked.
Do you know which companies I can sign a contract through and how to do it?

maybe we can joint venture and make some $$$ with iphone apps. I already got some awesome ideas.:tee:

Hi, it's called a non-disclosure agreement which yo get them to sign and return.

Could be a bit "ify" between countries though :/

ScriptLance ? Well.

I suggest you to use GetAFreelancer and pay via Milestone. The payment will be stored in escrow and You've the rights to release the payment ONLY AFTER COMPLETING THE WORK.

If not done, You can always ask GAF staff to cancel the payment.

I'm sure it's gonna be a smooth deal @ GAF.

All The Best :)

Hi,

Dont go with 2 feedbacks, i never go less then 10 feedback with MAX on one negative feedbacks. Programmers may blackmail you once you release payment. Always use payment milestones and NEVER leave feedback until you get your stuff done. A good programmer is like 30+ feedbacks, also they won't be cheap.

Thanks.
