Recently there have been a handful of "Screw Thy Neighbor" threads posted here and it is a little disconcerting. STN was a card game I played back in college (I was not real good at going to classes) where you would turn things around on the guy to your left or right and basically screw them so they could not win the game.

Recently we have had a guy that wanted to take advantage of proxies to click on ads (clickjacking), another guy that wanted to implement malware to generate leads for a CPA offer and who knows what else is being put out that is producing bad Karma for the community and for the internet marketing industry as a whole.

Blackhatworld is not a place to figure ways to screw the next guy by stealing via click jacking, putting crap on another's computer without them knowing or any other negative event where you are the creator or are a part of the genesis of that event. It is not here for you to promote that kind of activity either.

BHW is a place where you learn to "game" the system. Find the loopholes in the system so that you can take advantage of those loopholes without Effing your fellow man.

BHW is a place to learn and share tools that can work those loopholes for you with minimal effort.

BHW is a place to learn and share methods on how to make a buck in the online or internet marketing world.

BHW is a place to learn and methods to promote your business offline in an ethical way.

BHW is a place to get or give advice on a variety of other things that wold have a positive impact on one's life.

BHW is a place to recommend quality service providers.

We find work arounds, Folks, not screw arounds. We figure the way to "Beat the system" and to work smarter and not harder and do it in an ethical way.

Remember that you are business men and women and that you are in an industry that is suspect to many to begin with and that it is important, just like any industry, to maintain a certain level of ethical behavior so that the world sees the industry as a legitimate one.

In business you never talked badly about a competitor, you never do something to drag down your industry as a whole and you do what you can to keep your little corner of the world clean. It is proper and right that one promotes the industry in which they are making a living and try not to be responsible for bringing dirt upon it.

If you sold a food product (and I did for years) you would not say how bad the competitor's product was nor would you say that you were the only one that had a good product. You would not promote your business by stealing from others in the same industry nor would you use "scare" tactics (malware in our industry) to get one to purchase from you.

You would be sure that the world knew that you were ran a clean business in a clean industry because yo want that business to be successful as well as sustainable. Sure, you can be successful and be a jack wagon but you will not have a sustainable business model and successful without sustainable is nothing to write home about.

Let's be sure to keep our focus on the positives in the industry and maintain the ethics that will cause our industry, the internet marketing industry, to continue to grow so that we can bank for years to come.

you give to much credit to probably 80% of the people that troll these kinds of forums.. YOU are a businessman.. and a professional also.. the majority of wankers ?? who knows where they come from but these guys would sell your mother for a commision..

this is why i believe mostly in higher priced private groups.. better quality of people generally..

I do not see what is the point of this thread.

Sure, it's not cool, I also hate those threads, but how do you propose "we" fix that? This thread will lead to nothing else, but a circlejerk where everyone is saying how honest they are, while the scammers will be still reading/posting in the money making sections. Do you expect scammers to come, read this thread, slap their forehead and exclaim "I will be 'clean' from now on!". People will never stop looking for easy money, even if they have to throw somebody under the bus.

Never is an absolute and not applicable here + if I, as a businessman in the internet marketing industry do nothing about trying to keep it clean then I am failing to do my fair share.

Hopefully those who were seeking the knowledge to screw their fellow man stumble across this thread. I know everybody has their own moralistic values, but there's some things that we can all agree to disagree with. Blackhat is (for the most part) a malignant term in the world of IM, but I've found so much information on this site that doesn't even pertain to blackhatting.

You hit the nail on the head with this one OP, I can dig it!

Matter of fact, consider it dug .

Bookmarked this thread. We can't control all the pests but we can reduce their effect, so I will link this thread in my posts to all those jealous pupil's threads.

I think this sums up BHW

We find work arounds, Folks, not screw arounds.

I don't believe in karma, but it is true, good things come to good people.

Easiest way around: May be BHW can decide to delete those threads (and posts), and perm-ban those thread (and post) creators. May be, only the title of the thread still stays on with the only message that "such topics are not tolerated on BHW and the thread-maker is perm banned. BH is not ScamHat or Sh!tHat" -- something similar message, at least initially for some months, so that others know why the thread was deleted and what would happen to the maker of that thread.

BH doesn't mean SH (Scam|Screw Hat). We can do well without some of those members, because the quality of threads and knowledge in those threads (BH or otherwise) in this regards will improve, and those banned members will be replaced by real kind of new members who would learn that BH isn't equal to SH.

And who will decide to report those threads? Same way as it is happening all the time on BHW. Report them and Mods will decide.

Just my 2 cents.

agreed because saying what u might no here generally backfires
and just makes u look bad.

you do what you can to keep your little corner of the world clean
also agreed - just ask wiz anyone dirtys the proxie section he knows i
will be sending him a link to spring clean

you would not say how bad the competitor's product was
You would not promote your business by stealing from others.
also true - hell these days if i see some1 asking for something i no i can do
i still point them to the sales area, if your good at what u do they will
find your sales thread.

Let's be sure to keep our focus on the positives in the industry and maintain the ethics
very well said. reminds of when 1 of my services shut, then months laters
i opened a new one, and i advised buyers if they wanted a cross over, just pay
the difference between the 2 products, not the whole price of the new one.
greed never provides good word of mouth.

good post well writen - seen to many posts lately from new users who see
blackhat as a forum of fcking people over anyway they can
this isnt the blackhatway its there way. which questions there ethics.

the ones here, the good guys who work not to screw people over we
belong to one club - the bhw club. and if saying what we think annoys
people if its the truth, fck em.

A very nice post OP, and i agree with everything you have mentioned here, i also think that BHW should stay clean of these threads and focus only on useful whitehat information but that doesnt change the fact that people would stop doing these things in the background and the reason is that for a business to function only with "minding your own business" and "playing safe" is certainly not possible after some point.

There comes a time in your business development when you expand to the point where it will be eat or be eaten. Even if you mind your own business and play "safe" , there will always be a competitor that would want to bring you down at some point so the only way to stay in the game is by you playing "dirty" also or in your words "screw thy neighbor" before he screws you.

Take SEO for example, how many people are using NEG SEO to bring down their competitors ? If i have spent a lot of time and money building an authority site with hopes of a good ROI some day and i see a competitors that is trying to bring me down than you can bet that i will fight for my investment anyway i can. Even if that includes playing "dirty" or "screwing thy neighbor"..

In business you never talked badly about a competitor, you never do something to drag down your industry as a whole and you do what you can to keep your little corner of the world clean. It is proper and right that one promotes the industry in which they are making a living and try not to be responsible for bringing dirt upon it.

How do you think that large corporations get to the point where they are now ? By playing fair ? I don't think so. Industrial espionage (malware/adware infections) - anti competitor commercials (Clickjacking) - mass PR stunts ( neg seo ) etc are all part of one big game where only the strongest survive.

IM is a billion dollar industry and everyone wants a piece of the cake and they would do almost anything to get their share. The industry as a whole will never go down and will only expand which means the competition will only increase in time so you either find a way to survive and grab your share or quit. I would like to believe that this game can become cleaner but i am not seeing that happening anytime soon and that's why these kind of threads will continue to arise here on BHW because BHW is a business community and a lot of people are coming here seeking answers or solutions to their problems and having those threads would at least give them some clue of what they are dealing with or how to fight back for their business.

I also would like to my post that we have a download section where people are sharing paid e-books for free. Books that have TOS saying "No reselling or giving away allowed". Isn't that screwin' my neighbor as well?

Exactly my point. A whole section of contradiction for OP`s post.

Well, closing your BST until the BHW community raises themselves to your ethical standards is a bold move, and I applaud it.

Well, it's pure hypocrisy to complain about the community but still take their money, but OP's put his money where his mouth is by closing his BST until the balance of blackhat karma is restored to the universe.

Well i guess a SEO Service is exactly that : "Screw Thy Neighbor" lol Outrank other people sites and put your clients in front, so you are basically screwing the neighbors ! Should we consider that in the "dirty" threads section also ?

Well, it's pure hypocrisy to complain about the community but still take their money,

I'm really not complaing about the community so much as I am pointing out that we, collectively, need to not lower ourselves to unethical methods to make money when there is a TON of money to be made in a way that is not screwing another.

While doing that I mentioned a couple of instances that I saw the past couple of days that particularly irked me.
