My hotmail password was taken about 2 weeks ago, was used to send spam, and I am 99% sure it was from my use of scrapebox. But asking about a specific URL...how would it ever be possible to know? If you're blasting out a few thousand comments, and visiting literally hundreds of thousands of sites..you'd have no idea which site it was from.

Getting the trojan (forget the trojan name was but used spybot to get rid of it) was my fault. I never run with virus and firewalls as I hate how they slow down your machine, even just a bit. And so probably after using scrapebox a total of 10 or 15 times, I got hit by a trojan. Never had that happen before. not ever.

You never run a virus protection or firewalls and your 99% sure it came from Scrapebox?

You gotta be kidding me.

Just my having an internet connection you are leaving yourself open for attacks from anywhere.

I did get several infections whiile using scrapebox but I did not have the malware and phishing addon installed nor my firewall turned on. My AVS caught some but not all like the antivirus security suite and a root kit. I finally got rid of the crap.

Sandboxie is great but I can't seem to get scrapebox to run in it maximized. It will only run in the system tray minimized.

Should the malware and phishin addon take care of any infections?

Thx!!!

Yeah when I'm doing a massive blasts my little antivirus window that pops up from the task bar letting me know a threats been blocked literally never goes down because it's constantly catching one after another. my antivirus has blocked almost 900 attacks this month all from SB and I've only used it a few times, but they were massive runs.

I have nod32 and norton antivirus online running, but it doesnt always block them all. Doing a full system scan afterwards sometimes catches a few things that made it past.

but like people said its a risk you take just using the internet, just take precautions.

Good post and very interesting. For my part, I activate the addon anti malware feature but I don't blast many.
I post manually for the moment ....
I install vmware but I can't reinstall SB in vmware because the licence is installed in my PC ...
