Scrapebox comment test on my blogs

I'm using Scrapebox for months. Always with tested proxies comes with Scrapebox proxy tool.
Today an idea came up and I wanted to try to comment on my 10 WP blogs.
Guess what every comment went straight to the spam.
I tried with proxies and plus without using proxy. Same result!

What does that mean?
- Maybe my autoblog sites banned by Akismet
- Maybe proxies using by a lot of Scrapebox users and get banned. (But why without proxy?)
- Maybe Scrapebox commenting method is discovered?

What do you think?
And before you answer can you try to commenting on your blogs?

*never* run without proxies - no good can come of it. You might as well just enter the name "Spam Comment Delete Me" if you run without proxies.

If you ran a comment blast to your blogs with proxies *before* running w/o proxies, and those ended up in spam, there's a few possibilities.

- aki$met has caught onto you (if you've ever comment blasted without proxies before, or with a similar combination of names/comments/backlinks, aki$met will figure you out - they don't go just on IP)

- if you're using the proxies that can be scraped by scrapebox, yeah, there are who knows how many other scrapebox users madly commenting away, which throws those into the spam bin right quick

- your domain names may be on a blacklist (banned by aki$met or the like) from previous commenting

- sbox commenting method hasn't been "discovered', the app doesn't really leave any footprints, but users making some fairly fundamental mistakes do leave footprints

Testing on your own sites is a great idea, I do it all the time and sometimes I end up in the spam bin and learn from that, and other times I don't get spam binned and I learn from that too. Right now I'm "out of the spam box" and life is good...

I only used w/o proxy while comment experiment on my sites. I know it is silly to use it without proxies.

Is there any way to know that my sites on Akismet spam list? Is there a spam check site?

I think I try other handpicked proxies than scrapebox. And also I can purchase some private proxies.

Interesting, I went to Askimet to do some digging, you know what do I do if my comment gets falsely tagged as spam?

I went visiting some of their corporate services/offerings and saw a link regarding their RBL services. That caught my eye and sure enough the link went directly to SpamTEQ, a Spamhaus Datafeed Service. So does Askimet as part of their secret sauce uses the Spamhaus RBL list which driven by SBL (spammers) & XBL (botnet) addresses? If so my guess is that some of the shared proxies and their IP addresses no doubt got you caught by the Spamhaus SBL.

yeah,akismet definately uses spamhaus.

There are some basic tests for akis block, as well as some other info people have posted here.

One quick and dirty test - go to a site you know to be aki$met protected and just try entering a comment - use whatever proxy you are using in sbox, and similar data (same domain, same name and email addy, one of the comments) and after you submit it see if you get a blank page or a message that your comment has been discarded. Bada bing, that means you're on aki$met's list.

There are some other tests, but that's a really quick one you can do.

Nice technique, and I hope everyone is paying attention to add it to their order of operations before starting a campaign. Everyone, pay attention to what this guy just posted about how to test your campaign BEFORE you hit that send button. It will save you a ton of headaches.

sound advice. My first couple of runs of Scrapebox a couple of months ago were overzealous and I ended up getting banned by Askimet. It taught me a good lesson and now I'm much more careful.

I now use SB to post comments that point to web 2.0 properties that then point to the banned blog. I also do manual comments for that site.

Being banned by Askimet isn't the end of the world, but it is a pain in the rear. Learn to use it and test it like Gregstereo and MisterGemini suggested and hopefully you can keep from getting on the bad boy list.

sigh... all of my sites are blocked by akismet and I never use sb on my own sites! All i did was post on few sites with my main url (manually)

I just noticed all my sites are blocked by akismet to. Is this unavoidable with mass commenting. Or do i have to avoid this? What percentage would use akismet?

This is excellent advice.

Make a mini link ring with every project, and hammer THAT not your own site.

Even works with dating (in fact works very well with dating) Akismet will never ban blogspot or whatever

and ALWAYS use proxies!!!

yea before reading up on scrapebox i stupidly used the example names and emails file, which i think got my ip on the akismet list
