Hi,

I'm Ripstack.

Intro:

This will be my first journey and I will be trying to build authority site. I have been gathering knowledge about IM and the basics of it through out past few years, never acted on it yet tho. My knowledge might be outdated , so this will be kind of learning and making experience for me and hopefully for you too, if you're reading this. Since I have a day job, I will only be doing this in my spare time. I'll try to update this thread every sunday or whenever I do something that I believe is worth sharing.

Strategy:

I will try to combine clickbank and amazone on my authority site as a way to monetise it, if it's possible to combine them. I also considered building authority site for adsense, but In my point of view it just seems too much hustle for pennies( I know I'm wrong, but It's just my beliefs). Website will consist of reviews for cb and amazone and articles in general to generate more traffic and make site larger.

Goal:

My goal to this journey is to gain more in depth perspective about this buisness and make some money, lets say 100$/weekly.( even 1$/day would make me happy for a start)

Resources:

I have some knowledge in keyword research , on page optimizing , social media, clickbank product selection, competition analysis. Some knowledge, means that I know this and that but I'm far away from being pro at it. So patience and time are the only to companions I will need along the way. I also have a domain, which is over 1 years old and hosting. I will be doing keyword research and competition check on my own.I will be writing all the articles and reviews myself. I will try to optimize website myself , best as I can. The only thing I will have to buy , will be off page SEO. I have basic understanding of how to build links and all , but I'd rather leave this part to people who know what they're doing.

With that in mind, it's time to set some short term goals.

  • Find and optimize WP theme for the website ( remove unnecessary stuff, download plugins...)
  • Research some keywords and read some more about the whole keyword research process
  • Write articles with at least 1000 words in them ( my articles usually vary from 1200 to 1600 words)

If you’re looking for a theme checkout rehub.
A great amazon plugin for free is contentegg.

Good luck!

Update 1

So this is my first update on the Authority site that I'm trying to build. Update is late for 1 day , but we have a long (3 day) weekend this week so I decided to postpone this update till monday. It took me some time to read and learn more about on subjects such as keyword research, website structure, keyword density and so on ... But this knowledge helped me understand more in depth strategies behind building a successful website. I can't post any links yet , but once I can , I will post an article about keyword research that I found on BHW.

Here is the list of things I've done so far:

  • Bought premium theme for 31$
  • Worked around the theme for a while, added categories, Installed yoast seo
  • Found a product to promote on CB
  • Found 5 keywords (3 kw's >1k , 2 kw's <100)
  • Wrote a review of 1300+ words , optimized it , added meta description
  • Wrote another 3 articles on closely related keywords (1200/800/750 words)
I haven't posted these articles yet , need to add relevant images and links. I'm going to try and link from my related keyword articles to my review article , this way making some interlinking( which from what I've red can make difference). Now I need to figure out if I should put affiliate links now or wait till posts start ranking. Now I need to focus on generating content and choosing more relevant products to promote. And again , more content. I'll try to make the most of the time I have to build this site.

Update 2

Alright, here comes second update on my ongoing battles. Haven't got much time this week to work on my site, but I managed to get few things sorted that won't be in my way later. I have drivers theory test coming up next weekend, so studying sucks some of my free time, and full time job obviously :D Anyway , lets get down to business.

Things I've done since last update:

  • Got site map sorted and submitted to search console, also added my site as property to it
  • Wrote down and posted privacy policy, terms of use, affiliate disclosure (excluded these pages from sitemap, I don't know if that's smart but I don't think It's relevant to have them indexed)
  • Played around with the site a bit, figured out most of the options available. Made it look gorgeous, I hope visitors like it as much as I do
  • Posted all the articles I've written before. Added images, internal links, sorted meta descriptions.
  • Registered on Social platforms, posted my article links there. I'm going to post random related stuff on it too , just to keep it realistic and interesting. Might boost up some social platforms too, like getting some legit likes, subscribes and follows.
  • Ordered logo for site and social media platforms -17$
  • Found 2 new products to promote
Like I said , haven't got much done. Sometimes it seems like you're doing a lot, but all those small unnoticeable jobs you do add up. Even tho at the end you don't have much to show for. But It don't matter. I'll keep my head down, squeeze as much of my time that I got to do it. Eventually I'll need to start thinking about investing in it, to start getting some backlinks done and start ranking. But realistically I'm thinking about January or end of December. By then my goal is to have at least 50-70 quality articles posted and about 7-10 products in line. I'd say it would be a good breaking point to start putting out fire with more gasoline :D My next update will be in 2 weeks, since I don't want to be spamming my thread with small sh*t I do through the week. Cheers and thanks for reading.

Yeah , Renden Pro. When I was looking for a theme I had my vision of how my end result site would look like. So with that in mind I was able to minimize range of themes to chose from. I personally wanted something with big header, maybe a slideshow of recent posts or pages/post of your choice, also something simple and easy to customize. So my advice would probably be: Imagine how you want your finished site to look like, and search for themes that match your personal criteria and try few demos out , see how it feels.
