Design is clean, although I did get a redirect as well. It might be worth populating with some fake profiles to make it appear more active then it is at first. Also unless you are going for people only in the UK you should change the domain extension.

I was just going to type the fake profile thing until I read your post and the fact that most of the profiles are fake anyway on the site,...lol Ran the pics through tinyeye and they pop up over the net.
You need to get rid of the domain name .co.uk Thats bad other then that it look snice. You just have to target a niche and stop comparing to facebook
EDIT" You know what I just thought of.. I would make that site some sort of social networking for investers or people who want to network and jv with other people making money or some type of business social network. Thats different.
Say If I need somebody to press up 100 DVD's for me, then I go to the website and network to find a connect
