You should look for a niche. It's almost impossible to get a lot of people to join an unknown social network.

Its only been online for 3 days!
My webmaster says something about a bot to scrape emails and then send them info about me site. What you think?

Well, its made out of social engine, but that not a bad thing, it looks great so far, you may want to lock down your admin section though.

Try going to it directly, not through anonym.to

Works for me on firefox and safari, even through anonym.

I agree with showboy, gotta find a niche to get into this stuff. I mean, like the title says, you're competing with facebook who has millions of members... and millions of dollars.

You could also think about - what do I offer that facebook, myspace, etc. doesn't... and market the site based on those aspects.

Thanks for your comments and yes i want to offer unlimited facebook style chat, with no daily limits on friend requests and no limits to how many friends you can have. I think that this would appeal to the blackhatters alone when their eyes light up. Just got to get some members now!

Exactly what Strygwyr said: What's your USP (Unique Selling Point)? What's going to make everyone switch from one book to another other than "no restrictions"? Although FB has some privacy issues, I don't think many users think it has THAT many restrictions.

So in short, nice site, but I think you still need a feature that none of the mentioned sites have. Gambling on real/video games would be a cool feature!

Design is clean, although I did get a redirect as well. It might be worth populating with some fake profiles to make it appear more active then it is at first. Also unless you are going for people only in the UK you should change the domain extension.

I will sign up later today just so you have another profile :)

I agree with the above posts, you need to target a specific "Group" of people to get a social network off of the ground. Even "Facebook" targeted a specific group when they first started out. They went after college kids at prestige schools.

There are a million groups out there that you could go after...
You just have to find one that interests you and run with it. The thing about it is, after you get your group to follow it, then they will get their group to follow it and so on. You will get the viral effect and then you could blow up. Without the viral effect, it will never grow and you will have a domain and a nifty looking website.

It looks good from my end too. Good luck with it, you sure picked quite a project! I agree with others about targeting a specific group just like Facebook was originally for college students to network and then it grew from there. I signed up as well to help fill it.
