Hello,

I am trying to create a reddit bot to post in several subreddits with different captions etc...

Now my question is this can I use the python praw lib for this, and is it bannable even if I use delay between the posts.

And also would anyone be interested in this bot?

You will be banned faster if you use relatively untrusted accounts.

you can do this with praw but the results won't be good I wouldn't recommend you to waste your time with using reddit API to make post I have done it myself and didn't like the results even with the nicest proxys there was still quite a lot of post going straight to spam or being flagged

when I made my own reddit submit bot at first I was also using praw and reddit's api to do everything but there were still quite a lot of problems apart from the post being flagged that made me ditch the api one of which was that you always have to use URL for media you can't post media directly to reddit with the api at least I couldn't find a way to do that myself besides doing a very long process and also on average there is a 20 minutes rate limit per post with the api

I wouldn't recommend going with API at all go with selenium or puppeteer best thing I did was moving away from the API I have much more control over my bot now don't even have to worry about the per post rate limit it's a killer for promoting onlyfans on reddit but unfortunately does need a little manual input about only 10-15% so it can I navigate the subreddits rules so if you want to build something similar 100% would recommend moving away from the API

I already use proxies to post which works fine for me. Doing already with 20models. With flagged do you mean "removed by reddits spam filters"?

I don't really like Selenium would rather have API if possible.

You can also go no code and create a an automation that does this for you. Make + AirTable + RapidAPI are all you need.

Personally this functionality is quite common and there are tools that already do this (Social Rise, Postpone to name a few).

But if you create a bot with newer/better features maybe someone will be interested.

yeah you could build it with api you don't necessary have to go with selenium it's just preference with API you would have to trade away few features but if it works fine for you then it's great I myself was using the API for quite a bit it got the job done somewhat and yes i do mean "removed by reddits spam filters"

There are in some subreddits that you post 1 link / image in max 4 subreddits at once, how do socialrise and other automation do this, do they know about this info or do you select yourself where and which content you want to post.

My idea is more I have 1 content that gets uploaded to imgur or whatever. That posts in these subreddits all at once with random captions.

Yeah I don't have that issue with spamfilters atm.

wasting ur time!! even old aged account got Banned!!
 
I wouldn't use praw for anything other than scraping tbh. This is probably the worst time to code a submit bot as no one knows what are the current posting limits after the new update this month thats been terrorising everyone.

I scraped 210 latest usernames that posted from 21 subreddits and was left with only 40 active accounts. People are either pushing them without knowing and getting randomly banned or playing it super safe with only a couple of posts a day which brings very little traffic.
Studying what others do doesn't help either because the limits they have most of the time don't apply to you too because of factors like karma on their account, how much they warmed it up and posting behaviour.

True true, how am I supposed to test in like if i have a post bot running for 3 days without a ban would that mean it is safe?

Yeah. If the accs stay up and are not shadowbanned or suspended within 3 days, you probably got the safe settings.

I see, thank you. Reddit is being harsh tho lately with spamfilters.. going to be a rough ride.
