If people start to realize that Google's AI answers (AEO) mostly comes from reddit posts, things could change fast.
Once users understand that reddit discussions are what power those AI answers, they will start going straight to reddit instead of relying on AI summaries. That means reddit could see a massive boost in visitors and activity.

More people will click reddit links from google, join discussions and spend more time on the platform. Subreddits that share helpful info or real experiences could suddenly get way more attention and followers. Even old posts might start getting new traffic if they show up in AI answers.

If this happens, reddit could become the next big traffic goldmine. It's time to start posting before everyone else catches on.

Yeah, that's actually true. Reddit is getting way more traffic now because Google's AI and even normal searches often show Reddit discussions first. Also, Google and Reddit made a deal last year, Google pays Reddit ($60 million annually) to use its data for AI training and to show Reddit content in search results. That’s why Reddit threads pop up so often in Google now. Once more people realize this, traffic will grow even faster. It’s already one of the top 10 most visited sites in the world, so this really could turn into a goldmine for anyone sharing real and useful info early.
 
Totally agree with this take. We are already seeing early signs of the shift - Reddit is quietly turning into a authority signal again. With AI surfacing real discussions and users craving authentic answers, the profiles and communities building trust now are going to win big.
Those investing in aged accounts and natural avtivity today will be the ones domainating when the traffic wave fully hits.

Reddit could grow huge, because if users notice Google’s AI keeps pulling answers from Reddit, they'll skip the AI and read the real threads instead.

Once people notice that Reddit is behind a lot of Google's AI answers, more of them will start using reddit directly.
That's going to bring more traffic for sure but also more competition, especially in active subreddits.
I think marketers who start early, build trust and share real value will get the best results before it becomes too crowded.

Reddit is already turning into a kind of "real people's search engine."
If this keeps going, I think SEO will definitely move toward building trust and visibility inside reddit communities.
Those who know how to share useful info and stay active in the right subreddits will have a big edge over traditional site SEO.
 
Yeah well Reddit takes a lot of effort. You have to follow the subforum's myriads of rules, powertripping moderators, watch out to not offend the softies. Ignoring any of the above and your carefully curated account gets banned while accounts promoting are fetish, pedophilia are running rampant.

Reddit can be tricky to handle. Every subreddit has its own culture and strict rules, and some mods can be tough. But if you take time to understand the community and post naturally, it gets easier. The effort is high, but the trust and visibility you can build there are worth it.

Smart move. Niche subreddits will be really valuable soon. As those communities grow, the people who join early and stay active will have a big advantage - kind of like getting in before everyone else sees the opportunity.

I think it could last if people keep posting genuine, helpful content. But if it becomes all spam and low-quality posts, the effect might fade over time.

Early adopters who focus on quality discussions now will likely see the biggest gains. Posting helpful, real content can pay off big in the long run.
 
In my opinion Reddit can already be considered a traffic goldmine, and everyday we are finding more and more gold

Provided I'm very new to this, what "gains" are we talking about here, read the whole thread, people seem to be talking about the gains, building repo etc. but how and for what exactly
 
Google doesn't show direct results from Reddit. It improves and deliver based on users intent. It goes through llm process then the user get the output. So I think this would not be the case here.
 
If Reddit really is fueling Google’s AI answers, it’s only a matter of time before people start going straight to the source. The ones already active there might end up with a huge advantage.
