Reblogging vs Uploading ?

Hey there

I run 20 accounts using TumblingJazz, i'm really happy with tumblr, but I have a question :

Is uploading pictures a better way of gaining notes, instead of reblogging them ?

*considering the fact that the accounts now pull 25-30 notes/day so i don't think the posts might get viral

Well when you post a pictures they appears in the search results by tags and can be found by other users. When you do reblog of picture, nothing happens just notification comes to user which have posted it that you reblogged it and your followers can see that reblog - but it not appears in any new search pages or anywhere where you can gain new followers or notes?

I understand, and as I read in the section, the tumblr posts show up in the search pages if the account is old enough. ( thought the posts must get notes first in order to even appear in the "recent" section )

I would grow manually one blog, uploading 50 pics/day and rebloggind them with the other blogs. Also on primary blog I would follow / unfollow manually. I think you could have around 4-5K followers after one month.

I do both, but prefer uploading my own stuffs! More seo friendly.

What are the benefits of uploading in terms of SEO ? Do you think people will find your blog faster ?

Yup, you're absolutely right!

When uploading we have chance to use tags, right? So this tags will be indexed by search engines. Reblog is good for instant contents, but not much for seo.

Well, you could post till 150posts / day . If you want to become somewhat famous look at your posts like being your business cards. Your chances of being more known grow proportionally with the numbers of the business cards distributed to your audience. If you don;t do some wizardry stuff in tumblr like posting affiliate links then you shoudn't have a worry about being banned. Act like a human

and don't annoy your followers.
