Sorry, I'm new to this and I want to understand this properly if someone has the time.

If you want to use GSA Search Engine Ranker, buying & using GSA isn't enough.

You also have to buy...

Windows VPS account with at least 4GB RAM/40GB HDD to run GSA on
Clean Proxies
GSA Captcha Breaker software or a Captcha Breaking service

Do I have this right? Are there any other services or products that are absolutely necessary to make using GSA effective and useful?

Pretty much it. You're going to need to know how to scrape sites to post to GSA with or buy a verified list

OK so GSA doesn't come with a database of sites? What do you recommend?

I have outwit hub that I used for another project, but I barely know how to use it and it bogs my system down. I used it to scrape ecommerce data for a vape site I had 2 years ago. Is there something better I should use?

One more question I forgot in my OP. In this post from last year, 710fla says...

RankerX tier 1 + GSA SER 2/3 = $$$

What do you think about that?

Yes I posted that, still works great in 2019. Create sites using RankerX for tier 1 and then build backlinks using GSA SER
