On May 19, 2021, I was having a Security issue on my client's GSC account for malicious or deceptive app.
My client is a travel agent who has an app available for Android (Play Store) and Windows.
Since the Android app is hosted on Play Store, they can easily and safely put a Play Store badge with the link to the store itself.
Yet for the Windows app, the company staff put a direct link of the app hosted on their own server (using .zip instead of .exe).
We have ranked for various large volume keywords on page #1. But after the Security notice on GSC, the traffic and ranking positions went down from page #1 to about page #7 or lower.
I have immediately removed the direct download link, asked a Review, and the Review is successful, hence the Security notice on GSC is not shown anymore. But the traffic and ranking positions are still not recovering.
What should I do to fix it? I have recrawled the entire site and the pages whose rankings declined.
Does it have certain timeline or specific time of how long I should wait?
Anyone who faces or has faced similar issue, please do help me on this.
