Hello all,
I'm trying to rank a site for a different region (Iran). The key words I want to rank for are in Farsi, however I'm ranking for people who search those keywords in North America (USA, Canada). I want to rank for people who search it in Iran because that's the main bulk of my visitors.
I was wondering if anyone has any tips or information about that.
I searched the site and couldn't find anything.

Thank you in advance

Through Google Search Console/Webmaster Tools you can set your website's preferred target region. That will directly tell google which country you're focusing on. You'll still rank in other regions but it will help with ranking in Iran.

Also, there's a meta tag for region targeting. I've never used it before so I can't say how effective it is, but I know some people use it. It's the geo.region meta tag. For example, to focus on Iran add "<meta name="geo.region" content="IR" />" to your site wide code.

Hope that helps!

Here are some tips that I suggest:

- Add your NAP (Name, Address, Phone Number) in every pages of your website.
- Add your website (including NAP) to local directories
- Local Reviews. Create a page on your website that can engage and lead your visitors to the local directories that they can add a review about your site.
- Build local landing pages for your specific regions and feature it on your main page.
- Add a region to your relevant keyword. Like adding it to your title tag, page content or image attributes.

Thank you guys so much for the advice ill try them out!
