My question : I am using wpmu and would like to know is; can you use the same plugins for wordpress are do you have to use the mu plugins and if you have to use mu plugins where do you get plugins for seo using (wpmu) any help would be helpfull

Thanks

The answer is 'most' will work. Some will not. And some are made to only work with MU best bet is to try a plugin. If it works great. If not, try another.

Ok I will try that and thanks for your help......................

My understanding is that most plugins should work with WPMU. Most are not officially tested with it, but generally will work. So you have to try them out to be sure. I haven't had any problems so far. If you put them in the mu plugins folder vs the regular plugins folder, they are supposed to be automatically activated for all of the sites, vs having to activate them manually.... but certain plugins don't work well from the mu plugin folder, so you have to put those in the regular plugins folder. I hope that made sense. From what I can tell, you have to pay the premium membership fee to get access to the official wpmu plugins.... although I'm sure they have some on here somewhere.

Not to thread jack, but I always had a question with MU. Is it something where you can create numerous blogs over various domains, or is it just to be used to make blog farms on one main domain, and then subdomains?

I dont want to pay a monthly fee for anything I dont mind paying a one time fee.... But will try and see which ones work.........thanks

You can do one or the other. You can use it to create new sites domain1-com domain2-com etc... Or you can set it up to to do sub1.domain-com sub2.domain-com etc. You choose which you want it to do when you install it.

I'm on Blue Host and I can't get wpmu up on it and they said they don't support it.

You can do both at the same time, there's a "Domain Mapping" plugin where you can set it up using subs then map unique domains to which ever subs you want like Blogger and Wordpress.com does.
