[Question] Fan page like VS Link link?

I have a question about the difference of fan page likes and link like on the effect of SEO.
For example if I have a website and if I place facebook likes (not fan page, just like button to like the url) on that page, does it help more on the seo if I create a facebook fan page and place a like box on my website? thanks!

Likes dont affect SEO. Shares do.

So does that mean if I use the Like link (works similar as a facebook wall post, except doesn't show on their timeline) it will increase my seo?
