I wan to start doing CPA on YouTube. Not good at making videos, so I plan on using creative Commons videos and videos from other platforms. I'm a bit skeptical about starting it, though, cause I'm not even sure my videos will gain any traction regardless of how much I try to rank them. Can anyone advice on whether it's still viable to repost videos on YouTube, especially from YouTube

Don't do that, it will not rank. instead, spend some days learning how to make those videos, then you can make them easily and quickly.

YouTube can easily track duplicate videos, how much edit you do.

Reposting videos on YouTube still works, but the keywords on your videos should be highly searched on YouTube by other users.
I'm aware of that. I'll be using creative Commons ones so shouldn't get any strikes

It is not about the strike, it is about ranking, and if you get rank after sending views, likes, comments, it will hit community guidelines strike.
I am talking from my experience.
But you should try it yourself as everyone's recipe is different.

Yeah, it's totally viable. There's a vast market potential on BiliBili, and many people from BiliBili reupload videos from there to YouTube and monetize it. You can find your niche and reupload videos from BiliBili to YouTube. DMCA is not a big issue, and most of these Chinese creators don't care that their video is on YouTube.
