Hi guys!

I want to start a little business about selling mobile websites. I dont want to use online programs that convert the original website to mobile. I would like to use mobile websites templates and modify them. But the question is what can happens if I use templates from themeforest without license(because I cant afford an extended license)? How can they know that I dont have license for the websites?
Any advice or guidance is welcome.

Thanks in advance!

Unless the theme has some sort of callback to the owner then they really can't tell. Many people distribute themes and other WP addons without permission (license) and never get caught. It's mostly a deterrent but you could get into some serious trouble IF you get caught and they try to take action. You'll have to decide if that's a risk you're willing to take.

Why don?t you use the regular license then? Just to be on the safe side you could buy the template every time you get an order.

For example: You sell mobile websites for $300, you get one order, you buy the HTML mobile template that you want (they cost approximately $10), you customize the template according to your needs and that?s it. When you get another order just buy the template again, or use another one if needed.

I read their TOS and I am almost sure you can use the template once, on your own website or your client?s. However, I highly recommend you contact their support and ask the question directly to them, before doing this.

My opinion is that if you can use the regular license, you should do it. It will allow you to legally build websites and the cost will be completely covered by the payment you receive from your client, so you will definitely afford it.

Good luck with your business.
