Question about "Helpful Content Update"

Hey Guys,

After the "Helpful Content Update". My sites got hit.

For the past few months, I've been improving various aspects of my sites.

However, I'm wondering if there is a point in continuing link building or should I wait until the sites recovers?

You should not wait.

Now is the time for a change.

What you do now will only be truly reflected in the next update. (it is probably around the corner)
 
Niche relevant link doesn't make any harm on any update. You can continue it anyway.

I would suggest you take single step at a time to measure the impact.

I was taking it one step at a time, but as the earlier comment said, the changes won't be reflected until a future update.

So there is no way to see changes and measure them until they are taken into consideration by a google update's.

Your website won't recover. Google prefers bigger sites more than ever. You can waste money and time on links but you won't get anywhere. Google doesn't give a shi* if you umprove your website or whatever. They just don't care.

If I may ask, can you please emphasize some more on what you mean exactly by "improve your pages"?
 
Analize metrics about your site's traffic, like pageviews, bounce rates & average time visitor...
And improve visitor experience.
 
I'd suggest looking for reasons why your website got hit. Surely not just because of the size, right? It's called "helpful content" not without a reason, so I'd try to look through the content that the website has and get rid of anything that could have caused Google to ditch it

And building more quality links or improving UX is always welcome, of course

I mean optimizing the content and structure of your site to make it more friendly. Improve content quality, enhance page speed, create a logical internal linking etc. Basic stuff

The only AI content i have, is the content structure of the article, that means the big titles h2 h3, other than that, everything else is 100% human written

@kurosaki4d OP listen to his advice. How do you think google measures helpfulness of the content? Google is not a human which measures your poetic abilities or stuff. Helpfully content = user experience , you got hit because the click stream and visit quality was below average for your niche, that is why it got dumped from results. You need to create a new flow of click stream and it's visit quality to get the ball rolling again.

... and why? Nothing wrong with AI content. You are wasting your time writing it yourself. Google is changing with every google update. People are giving you advice based on what was before. There is nothing wrong with your site... it is google hating so much small / medium publishers.
 
Unfortunately we SEO's need to look into the future and stick to our plan, because everything is so delayed.

It would be nice if we got daily feedback from Google and could adjust accordingly. But then it would be easier for everyone, so...
