Hi all,

I am curious to learn from affiliates what you are most interested in from people like me who have a product. I want to add my product which is a travel hacking ebook to some affiliate programs and your input and advice would be great.

What pisses you off about a product?
What do you look for to decide if a product is worth you time promoting?

Some of the things I think I should do are the following.

1. Offer the highest commission % to any affilaite who signs up.
2. Offer a 100% money back guarantee to any buyer.
3. Offer excellent communication and support to buyers which in turn enhances the affiliate.
4. Offer support and tools to my affiliates so they are successful (What they are yet I am still researching)

If you can tell me anything you would like to see me do , where I should list I would be grateful.

James, I agree with you there. Quality is key. My product is all about quality. I have reviewed all the other competitor products and they are junk. There is one person selling a course on how to get free vacations by house sitting at a strangers home. BS. Another person wrote a book and is telling everyone to stay for free simply by using the coachsurfing site. I want to back up with information with a guarantee because I know my methods work. I teach everything from hotel hacking to airline hacking to venues and theme parks to free wifi. Its not just free things but also how to purchase any class of service cheaply.

I like the idea of a lifetime cookie. That's a good one. When I sold my product years ago, I did really well, but it was only on Ebay, no other site and mak,ing over 1K a week. So I think with the revisions and updates I can make a lot more, but I'm not greedy and think it will do even better with afiiliates.

Personally, it's communication, support, and then commission.

I usually asked for free product reviews or refund just to see if the seller is still active or not.

My suggestion is you spill the secret a bit (not all of them of course) maybe how to get a cheap hotel room or cheap airplane ticket, this will attract the buyer and definitely increase their confidence that you really know what you are talking.

Oh, you also should post your proof on youtube maybe. Just say hello from where you are and how much you spend on that vacation. or simple tips and trick for cheap dinner or something. This way, me as an affiliate can use your video on email marketing too.

Yes, I am definitely going with the 100% money back guarantee. and I think providing users with a free travel hack when they provide an email is going to be key. But do you think one free hack or two ? Perhaps 1 and if they dont buy I can create a script to send another after a time period?

I really want to support the affiliates every way I can. So I was going to offer an affiliate area with tips and tricks on how to market the book as well.

Just 1 free hack is enough. Use the rest of the videos for email marketing. It will keep the audience interested to keep coming back to your website and increase the conversion. Oh, and also create a different page for different pricing. One with discount and one without discount, it will definitely useful for me as affiliate marketers. Like "price going up in midnight" , for non buyers, they will regret it and will definitely buy when the second discount coming.

more good advice thanks. I have seen timer scripts on other landing pages. With price increase at midnight call out. Looks like it works to create a need to buy.
 
If you're going to have a front end product like an ebook I think it's important to have a upsell right after and that you keep promoting thereafter. Something like a level 2 of your first product (the ebook). You'll probably have an idea already what this would be much better than I am. Typically people sell mentorships here or some more personal 1-on-1 coaching. Idk if that makes sense for your niche since it's about saving money. But I'm sure there's endless stuff out there. Maybe an awesome backpack you are an affiliate of.

Thank you. Yes, I agree with you. It makes a lot of sense. I was thinking of adding some bonuses and also a member area so buyers could get updates and also ask questions.

I'm not too sure, I have never heard of a travel hacker either. I can only assume is a Travel Hacker is one who hacks one off on Publ8c transport such as buses and trains.
 
I can give you a example of what will make me buy. A new software came last week, everybody was premoting it. I looked at about 3 reviews and I still was undecided. Until, I got a E-Mail from one marketer that was honest to the point it cost him money. He said it a great product, the first Upgrade is worth it if you are new and the last 2 are shit don't buy them. That made me buy it right then.

A travel hacker figures out the system , in this case the airlines , hotels, car rentals and theme parks and knows how to get upgrades, and buy tickets cheaper than anyone else and a lot more.

Here is a free hack I'll share with you to give you an idea. This one is known as the Sandwich Trick and it only works in Las Vegas. Its worked 5 out of 5 times for me but I can't say it will work 100% of the time.

You go to one of the major hotels on the Vegas Strip such as Casears Palace, the MGM, or the Venetian. Before you check in, you need to do two things ahead of time. 1. Sign up for the free frequent player card. 2. Book direct with the hotel and not a third party. When your turn is up to check in, approach the check in desk and have your credit card, drivers license and a 50 dollar bill sandwiched and folded between the ID and CC. When the desk agent takes all three, ask if there are any upgrades available . If you are staying just one night a $20 should work. but if you are staying 3-5 nights, definitely a $50. He/She will make a call and might even leave to go in the back room. Don't be nervous, this is normal. When they come back, if they have the suite available, they will ask if the $50 is for him/her. Say, "yes it is " and smile and you just got a sweet upgrade . I once did this and I let the agent know we were celebrating a friends birthday and we planned on A LOT of gambling. The desk agent handed me two food/drink vouchers worth $200. So I ended up with an upgrade and $200 worth of drinks and food. We had a great time and the suite was huge.

That is actually a well known hack and works in places other than Vegas as well.

I would not use that as a teaser since it is pretty well known.

Oh its definitely not a teaser I plan on using. But I wanted to explain what a travel hacker does. I usually hack the airline systems legally and get my tickets for 1/4 of what others buy. There are so many hacks its amazing. This is why I wrote the book. There is a ton to know.

Which affiliate system is preferred by affiliates? And based on the fact that I sell an ebook in the travel niche, which system do you think is best for me? Third question, what should I be aware of before I get started.
