This is really very nice thread; to help about using proxy tools of mozilla with much ease.

it works great for me, i dont even have to use the program itself, when i use another Hide IP type program, the IP im hiding behind automatically gets put into the firefox plugin, its great. Thanks for an awesome tool!

hi,

is it possible to add more than 100 proxies in the list ?

Thanks

That is one of several requests we are getting, including the bigger list. We are thinking of increasing the limit to 250, and make some changes to the code to the view list to make it scrollable.

Please post your requests/wishes here.

Until then, please stay tuned.

Proxy tool is a nice addon ( from personal use ), it save me hours for changing proxy. If you can add multi-proxy-tab. It will be great.

The user agent list/feature works great! I didn't think the ProxyTool could be any more awesome!

I knew the user agent feature was there but I didn't think it would work as well as Firefox's user agent lists I was using, but I was wrong!

Since reading this post the other day I tried many different user agents in the ProxyTool lists, checking to see if my real user agent was hidden and it was hidden every time. Great feature with perfectly working up to date user agents. Using ProxyTool Add-on is so much easier and more convenient.

This service is even more phenomenal than I originally thought, if that's possible.

In case I haven't said it before, thank you so much for this extremely handy tool portalweb.

The user agent (random/default) is one of many reasons why Proxy Tool Addon for Firefox is very popular.

It's easier to let Proxylist.co to handle the 43M+ user agent types. And, yes, we are planning to add more user agents on the next upcoming version.

As for the "custom" user agent list - I'll think about it. :)

Thanks for your kind words.

I got an email from one customer who is developing the custom wordpress theme for his customer's site, which he uses user agents (iphone, ipad, etc.) come with proxy tool FF addon to tweak the CSS settings for mobile applications with less efforts.

For the fun out of it, please try to change user agent to iphone - you'll get iphone type web view (try fedex - you'll get the idea). And, when you're done, don't forgot to change back to default or other type of user agent. ;)

Have fun!

So I have the tool installed and I have 30 elite private proxies.

I want to post 30 reviews on say.. superpages.com I imagine I need 30 superpages accounts. Can someone tell me what I do in between posts to ensure each post is seen as coming from a different user at a different computer?

Change what? Clear what? simple baby steps please.

Simple advice: Treat each multi-account like your own account.

At last, use Shift + S (proxy tool) to rotate your elite proxies tied to each account.

Hi,

I have some private proxies using username and password for authentication, how could I enter the username and password into the proxy settings ?
I enter the proxy IP and port into the menu Import proxies, but when I try to open a connection the browser firefox displays the message "The proxy server is refusing connections"

Thanks

is this free then?. Can you use this on sites like wordpress. Only i use Tor and i cannot access most sites with it

That would be more than awesome!

portalweb, I'd pay for this feature.

vt2011, Or there might be a way to authenticate your private proxies through an IP from proxylist.co

But to be able to use private proxies user/pass authentication in ProxyTool would be awesome.

The ProxyTool is free, it's awesome and you can use it with proxies/IPs on most any site as far as I know.

Yes, Proxy Tool FF addon is FREE!

Proxy Tool FF Addon:
- It can be used for any type of proxies: HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS4 and SOCKS5.
- It can be used with private proxies or public proxies.
- If private proxy with username/password authentication is used, just enter IP : Port in the text box (bottom right status bar) (or in proxy edit box) and click on (H) button to turn to Green (see pics here). Then open the web site...which FF will prompt you with username/password textboxes for you to enter.. Click OK to save the password.
- if private proxy with IP authentication is used, just enter proxy IP : Port in textbox and click on (H ) button to turn to Green (see pics here). Then surf the sites.

If you can't see the bottom status bar on your FF browser, please follow the easy instructions here to get the bottom status bar to be visible.

Someone asked in 2 years old original thread (here), asking about the multi-instance FF browser to work with proxies. The answer is

YES

Easy Instructions:

1) In Windows, use Start -> Run to enter:
firefox.exe -no-remote -P
2) Then, create 2 separate profiles.
3) Then run 2 firefox instances like:
firefox.exe -no-remote -P profile1
firefox.exe -no-remote -P profile2
4) Then, install Proxy Tool FF Addon on both instances (separate browsers).
5) Configure each instance like it's own browser which will work with it's own proxy, and yes, with configured User Agent of your own choice in Proxy Tool FF addon, it will emulate Internet Explorer, Opera, Safari (iphone or ipad, whatever), etc.

Screenshot (of actual configured instances):

thanks portalweb, I use 2 proxies providers, with username&password authentication and IP authentication. For the provider with username&password authentication I enter the proxies as explained on the proxy tool, but when I try to connect to a website, the proxy server refuses the connection and Firefox browser does not open a window asking for username and password, maybe the proxy server is wrongly configured, or maybe something wrong with Firefox 5.0 and proxy tool for username&password authentication ?
