Proxy Tool Addon for Firefox and Chrome

thanks portalweb, I use 2 proxies providers, with username&password authentication and IP authentication. For the provider with username&password authentication I enter the proxies as explained on the proxy tool, but when I try to connect to a website, the proxy server refuses the connection and Firefox browser does not open a window asking for username and password, maybe the proxy server is wrongly configured, or maybe something wrong with Firefox 5.0 and proxy tool for username&password authentication ?

I am certain it's not Proxy Tool FF addon, as we have over 7,000 active Proxy Tool FF addon users using private/public proxies for everything.

In that case, please contact your private proxy provider (username/password authentication one) to fix your private proxy account.

Hope it helps.

thanks for your great support and proxy tool is really working fine for me, I agree with you the issues are on the proxy provider, I will fix it with them.
In case we have proxies and having different username&passwords (we can use different providers so the credentials are different) does proxy tool can save the different credentials asscoiated to the list of proxies ?

No problem. :)

Yes, as long as these private HTTPS (or SOCKS) IP : Port and username/password are the same credentials.

I am using this daily but 1 thing i wish that worked well is loading proxies from a file

We are planning on upgrading Proxy Tool FF addon with major improvements, including the direct link (from web or file).

Until then, please stay tuned.

Hi,

I am not sure to understand 100% the different options of the User Agent and Referrer.
Could you please explain in few words the 3 options of the User Agent and their related available values ? :
- Default
- Randomize ALL
- Ramdomize latest browsers

And Referrer :
- Default
- Random
- Rotate

Thanks

Hi,

I am not sure to understand 100% the different options of the User Agent and Referrer.
Could you please explain in few words the 3 options of the User Agent and their related available values ? :

I'll be more than happy to explain the quick details (from http://proxylist.co/proxytool.php site) :

- Default
- Randomize ALL
- Ramdomize latest browsers

User Agent:

User Agent is, as defined by Wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_Agent
"In computing, a user agent is a client application implementing a network protocol used in communications within a client?server distributed computing system. The term most notably refers to applications that access the World Wide Web, but other systems, such as the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), use the term user agent to refer to both end points of a communications session."

Basically, User Agent is a ?signature? of a client that?s used to access websites on the Internet.

Examples:

Internet Explorer 6:
Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.1; Windows XP; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727)

Firefox:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:2.0b7pre) Gecko/20100925 Firefox/4.0b7pres
ua.PNG

There is a good set of User Agents to switch to, including the option to randomize those User Agents, which means a random User Agent will be selected for you. A lot of versions are available for each client/browser, so you have plenty to choose from.

And Referrer :
- Default
- Random
- Rotate

HTTP Referrer:

First, let?s see what?s up with this Referrer feature. Some sites require you to come from a specific web address in order to access a specified page. With this amazing tool you can easily set the referrer, by choosing one of the listed websites, or by adding your own using the Edit List option. You can add more items to the list by copying and pasting them, or by entering them one-by-one by yourself. The addresses must be in the domain.extension format. No leading http:// or other stuff. You can enter up to 10 referrers.

Hope it helps.

Many thanks for your explanation. When I select the option "Default" for the user agent I can see my current Firefox browser version, it's ok. When I select the option "Randomize ALL" and connect to my youtube accounts, youtube detects the user agent version and warns that the used version is old and need to be upgraded, for the old randomized versions, that's ok too. When I select the option "Randomized only latest browsers", youtube never warns. I guess this option has a subset of the whole user agent lists, how many values are there in this option ?

i have been using this plugin for about 15 days or so and it is great. it does everything i need it to. i use it daily and it cuts down on time. thanks!

Hmm..around 10+M user agents, using latest browsers selection. ;)

Try to use iPhone user agent - you'll see the difference for the sake of fun. :)

so there is 43+M user agent for the whole list and 10+M user agent for the latest browsers, it's largely enough, that's perfect. I can see that some websites use the user agent, and might use them for tracking, so this tool is very good with the large list if you want to stay anonymous, independently of the proxies of course.
This tool is already very good for the daily operations, if possible I have just one request. For those people who use private proxies and using username/password, it could be useful to add column in the import list with username/password so csv file can record the username/password per proxy and load the csv file. So we can even have multiple proxies provider with different username/password instead of 1 unique username/password.

Thanks

Same here...can't live without my Proxy Tool FF addon, as I take this tool very seriously.

We are working on how to improve the private/public proxies lists. Yes, the CSV/Text file with IP : password : username : password list is something we are looking into it.

I prefer to have the major upgrade with tons of cool features at once, instead of doing the incremental updates to the popular Proxy Tool FF Addon. It will be done by the end of this summer as scheduled.

Cheers,

Hi,

With some old browsers version in the option randomize ALL and Randomize latest browser, some websites has problems to run some scripts, so I must switch to option Default for the user agent. My question is not directly directed to the proxy tool, it concerns Firefox in my case. I use Firefox 5.0, does Firefox generates only one single user agent for all the users who setup firefox 5.0 or is it a new user agent for each browser setup ?

thanks

That is why we need to update Proxy Tool with updated user agents library, as Firefox already updated the user agent (5+ version), as well as the additional FF for Android (we want to add proxy tool for FF for Android, as I own Samsung Epic smartphone with FF browser in it), as well as the numerous of planned features to be added to this awesome Proxy Tool FF addon.

Hang in there.

That's great, I am looking forward to these new features which will be very useful. Some old browser versions have problems with some websites, so I think you need also to update the option "Randomize only latest browser" with only actual latest versions like ff 5.0 and 4.0 (ff 3.0 already has problems with some websites), IE 9.0 and 8.0 and so on...

Thanks

Awesome plug.

Perhaps a suggestion for a future update:

I love the option to auto-clear the cookies after the opening of a new tab, but perhaps in the future you could include a sub-option to have the auto cookie clearer disabled when the plugin is not being used. As is now, it's just a hassle to forget to manually switch it off and have to re-enter all of my login info for my casual viewing sites more than once.

But like I said, great plug

Here's the easy to configure settings as shown here from http://proxylist.co/proxytool.php site:

Hi,

I am sorry but I still have a question. I have an iMacros script running on ff 5.0, and after many tests with different addons, only proxy tool is perfectly integrating with the iMacros script, all are almost automated, just one exception :D
I select all the 4 options of the settings, on every new tab the proxy list rotates very well but only the site cookies are deleted and not flash cookies, I can check that with better privacy add-on and the flash cookies are still there, so for the moment I have to pause the script, click on the option "remove flash cookies" and then start again the script.
Could you please add a new option in the settings to clear all the flash cookies in every new tab, or in addition to the cleanup of site cookies also clear the flash cookies in the current options ?

Thanks

Damn..I missed that part that both site/flash cookies should be deleted automatically based on these settings as described above. Thanks for the reminder - I'll have it fixed on next update.

Note: I like your detailed messages. Rep+ given.

Stay tuned.
