What Do You Think of This New Filter?

It's certainly an option, although the reason I brought up avoiding adding too many restrictions to new members is because of what happened when the PM post count was bumped up from 15 posts to 50. New members with 3 day old accounts were posting threads left and right asking how to PM, when they can PM, and why they can't PM.

PM?

I thought it was BM and they all had bowel movement issues.

I need to reup my reading glasses.

I see an Indian witch doctor running blackmagic spam too. I'm pretty sure he doesn't use a tool, he just waves his wand and the posts appear on the forum. no filter is going to stop him from doing that.

yes , restrictions could be improved to make it suitable for new users , example we could add hire freelancer section with introduction section without post/age limit , for pm new users still could post pm reply ... should be a message pop up for new users when they try sending a pm inform/remind them about pm restrictions to avoid opening threads regarding pm restrictions questions ..... , anyways mods need to make input in this thread ... , because keeping reporting tons of spam/scam threads daily is something annoying for us and mods as well ... we need better anti spam improvement ......

This is a great idea. I support you. Hopefully can reduce the spam at a large scale.

Maybe giving posting rights to users forum section by forum section and they will get unlocked after x days.

Which are the most spamed secotions?
For those I would apply such a rule in combination with the filter idea of Zwielicht (to avoid a misunderstanding: ofcourse the filter should be applied to the complete forum)

If the user has less than 20 posts and has been a member less than 20 days charge a $25 fee if they want to post a new topic.

You'll either stop spam or get filthy rich so it's a win-win move.

I think the new filter is a great idea. Do you have any review copies?

Very good proposal I must say!

Something to ponder on...

What about people who add urls in the titles as most spammers do
Just reported another one today

Yeah, the sample key terms I listed in the original post contained http, https, com; so any members posting those in the title would be prevented from doing so.

I see now a spammer is offering a seo service. Should be one post per topic limit. So a member can't post 10 times the same post, at the time of writing a seo is spamming the forum with the same post
