Product Photos Copyright

I have an idea for a blog about luxury designer goods. I sell rare and highly sought after pieces by high end brands across various platforms such as eBay, ETSY, Vestiaire Collective, First Dibs etc... and want to use this blog to both promote my business and also earn Ad Revenue + Affiliate Marketing Revenue.

I currently have a database of hi-res photos for around 6000 luxury goods of various categories by high end brands such as Chanel, Prada, Gucci etc.. I took these photos myself and I own the copyright My plan is to hire VA to build this blog for me in a systematic way with my supervision and deploy Ads and Affiliate links.

However to really make the blog work well I would like to do reviews and comparisons and ideally post photographs of designer items from new collections. However I do understand that any such photos will be copyrighted and I really do not want to put myself under a risk of litigation.

Is there any way I can legally use product photos of luxury goods that are found on brand web stores for my blog? Such as Official Prada website or Gucci website?

I would really appreciate any tips and help.

Legally speaking, the company that took the photos own the copyright to those photos. So legally speaking, you are not allowed to use them. Will they come after? They can. I lean on the side of doing everything legally.

That's just my suggestion though.

have you considered searching for images without copyright? you migt get an issue with a copyrighted image

5 years ago I had a site and several of the images were Getty images. We got a notice in the actual mail not an email of copyright infringement and an assesed fine of $800 for one photo and $1200 for another. Not sure how they calculate the fine. The letter threatened legal action and said that in some cases they could take down your site if you fake to comply by filing a complaint with your registrar. I threw the letter in the trash but I did take down the photos.
This was 5 years ago so I don't know what they do now. I believe they have some reverse searches for their images or a photographer could have flagged me IDK. Maybe they have a side hussle of doing this lol.
